I grew up skating and JBing with my friends. While looking to get a bit more active as an adult I wanted to get into rhythm skating and find a good pair of starter skates. after extensive research I learned REIDELL is king but also expensive. I found a lot of skaters would wear Sure-grip and some swear by their wheels. After comparing cheaper types from Chicago and others I decided on Sure Grip Fames. I am very happy with my purchase. First off it came early so that is always good in my book. The skates are brand new, need adjustments but what skates don’t need some adjustment. I have not gotta out on the floor with them yet just around my place and I had to take the off because they are so comfortable and my apt flooring isn’t skate around friendly lol. True to size for me I wear a 9 narrow to med Wi date adn these fit perfectly snug but my toes aren’t crunched. I measure my foot in inches and mm to make sure. These are the first pair of skates I have ever purchased I would always rent speed skates. I do plan on replacing my bearings and wheels asap. I am 140 so I don’t think the nylon plate will be a problem. I plan on using these for indoor and outdoor use until I can save to get a pair of OGs or Juices. In conclusion… - they fit true to size. I am a 9 narrow but my feet can swell a bit and the feet comfortable while wearing them around. - lining id the softest lining I have felt in a skate ever. - The price, quality and reputation of the brand can’t be beat if you don’t have REIDELL or Chicago Lifestyle money. - The writing on the wheels are clearly messed up but honestly it looks more intentional design than malfunction so its honestly not a big deal its a wheel people. I will update this review in a few months after some real world use. But I am very happy with my purchase so far.

The media could not be loaded. I am very impressed with the quality and value of these skates! I purchased a "Chicago" pair and they were bulky, too big (9womens) and very heavy, with no support. Y'all when I unboxed my Sure grip skates the packaging alone amazed me! The quality of the material feels like butter! Lol. There is plush padding around the ankle, which makes these skates feel very comfortable. I purchased the 7(mens) 8 (woman) but I usually wear a 9 in womens. The size was a bit confusing but I took a chance and ordered a 7mens, needless to say THEY FIT LIKE A GLOVE!!!! Con: I'm not pleased with the printing on the wheels, and will try my best to get them replaced, because my OCD won't let me be great! Lol. I was told by the company this is their new print. Not true. Anywho I purchased a pair of outdoor wheels and upgraded my bearings. Overall with me never writing a review, I will say to sum things up... I love, love, love these Sure Grip skates!!!

These skates are pretty durable I’m an old school disco skater and they totally brought back my muscle memory. I have about 22 hours on these skates and within the first two weeks I was able to remove the stops and insert dance plugs. The wheels are very good they’re a hybrid wheel whereby they work we’ll on the pavement, tennis courts, and smooth basketball courts. Worth the investment if you’re just getting back into the groove of skating. Please don’t forget the essentials such as safety gear i.e. risk guards, butt pads, and knee pads. Remember, it’s not a matter of if you fall, it’s a matter of when you fall. The pros even fall but be of good cheer and skate on !!!

After returning Roller Derby brand for not fitting, Chicago Bullets for alignment issues, I settled on the Sure-Grip Fames. They are a bit stiff however still comfortable. Tested them last night and being the novice that I am, I had a ball. Nice roll after slight adjustments. Excellent maneuverability. Only negative are the rivets holding the plate to the boot, no bag and no skate tool. I am very pleased with my decision.

These skates, and the Fame wheels specifically, were recommended in an article for skate dancing. I also own a pair of Impala x Marawa rose gold skates. Those skates are beautiful and the wheels are good for outdoor skating, but the stiffness of the plastic patent leather boot was damaging my toenail beds. These skates are a great price for leather. Sure Grip is the brand that most rinks use when you see those classic tan suede rentals. If you're serious about getting better at skating but aren't ready yet to shell out $500-$600 for Riedells, then I highly recommend this brand.

I purchased these Sure Grip skates because my research showed that these were good for beginners and have a comfortable boot. I have a pair of Impalas but the boot is very uncomfortable so I needed to invest in a new pair of skates. The boot on these skates are wonderful and don't require a break-in period. However, as shown in the pictures attached, all 8 wheels have extraneous characters printed all over them. Also, the wheels are difficult to skate on. I use them only indoors (rink) as they are indoor wheels and have adjusted them but it requires a lot more effort to roll on them than my Impala hybrid (82a) wheels and has not gotten better with time so I question the authenticity of them.
