    • Trimming comb is fragile
I really like this trimmer since it is highly adjustable and has good battery life. Unfortunately, I just carried it in a zippered pouch with other personal care items for a 2 week trip. This morning I noticed that one finger of the comb was broken. My prior trimmer never had that happen! It still works, but appears to be fragile. They should provide a head cover if they design it to be this fragile. Update: I have raised the overall rating. The seller was prompt and friendly about my complaint and sent me a replacement comb. I now carry the trimmer in an individual pouch so hopefully the comb won't be broken again. ... show more

    • Exactly what I wanted, simple and easy to use
This is exactly what I wanted to smooth my beard out and get rid of the outgrowing hairs that stick out. I’ve only used it once, and set it way too low (to 1), and I made my beard shorter than I wanted to, but it still did the job. At first I wasn’t going “against the grain” and it still worked but definitely do it that way. Makes it much smoother. I’m kind of a beard noob as I’ve only had one for about a few years. I’ve never bothered to smooth it out much unless I got a haircut. I need to play around and find a setting that works best for me, but I’ll buy this product forever. Thanks so much for providing an excellent product that is what I truly needed. Also, I just used this after a shower, and it was the first time(product arrived yesterday but I had to wait a day for it to charge the first time), so I can’t comment on durability, longevity, and battery. Worked ok at first. The battery would die after 5 minutes. Called the company and they wanted me to jump through hoops to get a battery replacement or new unit and I would send them the dead one. They said I had to send them videos of the battery going dead. I don’t have time for that. So I’ll buy a new one from a more reputable company. Inexpensive, and so far, it does what it should. Adjustable guard is easily added and removed, and different clipper heights are quickly dialed in.

I bought this to take with me on an extended backpacking trip to Europe to keep my facial hair in check, figuring it cost about as much as a trim at the barber and could be left behind/tossed if it turned out to be a dud. It turned out to be one of the best things I bought with me. The battery lasts a surprisingly long time - I maybe had to charge it once every two weeks with semi-daily use. The cutting blade is sharp and precise, though it does need a guard on it to prevent cutting the skin. Knocking off one point for the guard itself, which is the weakest design element - it is difficult to replace on the blade once it's removed for cleaning post-shave, and it's made out of a flimsy plastic in comparison to the rest of the shaver (there's a small crack in it from the stress of taking it off and replacing it, and once it cracks more I don't think the shaver will be useable anymore.) Still, this has more than paid for itself and I'm happy with my purchase. ... show more
