Color: White Size: Hand Towel 4-Pack
I purchased this set to use as extra hair towels for my bathroom, since I already purchased another brand of white towel with a set of hand towels, bath and washcloths and needed an extra towel; buying four was a bonus. I like using a separate towel just for my hair, and this one is great. It is a long thread/nap, and not a short nap like many other towels, so it looks as thirsty as it is. I also love the size, since they are long enough to wrap around my head, unlike others I have purchased that were so short that I had to put them to use as powder room hand towels. This towel is very absorbent and thick, unlike any other towel I have purchased in the past. I wish I had ordered only these towels in all the sizes, but I already bought another brand of 850 gm Turkish towels, unlike these 900 gram Egyptian towels . I actually like these much better. They are washing well and holding up great after each wash. I don't use fabric softener. That would decrease the absorbency, and these are nice and soft after coming out of the dryer. 4/12/13 I am adding this after washing the towels several more times. They did not shrink for me. I bought them in white. I wash them in warm water in a one year old Speed Queen top loader washer that is not the low water consumption kind (such as newer LG, etc. that use minimal water and have glass lid) I wash them on the knits setting (not gentle) which on this washer means a slower wash spin cyle with a fast spin dry. That is my personal preference. I also dry them on low heat for the longest time/most dry setting. I dry everything I own on low heat. I know from the repairman (my dryer made noise, not washer problem) that many of the new washers spin so rapidly that clothes actually come out in knots. He has seen many of these complaints, though not with my type which is more of the old-fashioned design but with stainless, etc. (I am not a spokesperson for this washer but owned a Maytag for a very long time prior to this one.) They (the newer less water designs in top loaders, etc.) can be very rough on clothing, etc. I am not saying others' complaints may be related to their particular brand of washer, but in my case I have had no shrinkage problems and no fraying issues, etc. I just wanted to clarify my particular care of these towels in relation to my review. They are thick, absorbent towels. They don't have any velvety look to them or anything. They look like a very thick terry cloth and they are very nice so far. ... show more

My wife fought me on this purchase. She felt I overpaid. I wanted to get something nice for a newly renovated bathroom. At first glance she wasn’t too impressed. But after using it. I had originally purchased two hand towels to sample. I needed to know the thickness, as well as any color fading with washing. I did not notice any strange odor that filled my home with these original hand towels. I was happy! So I purchased the entire set with bath towels in dark blue and additional hand towels and washcloths. After Removing from packaging did not notice any chemical odor but once they were in the washing machine with soap and water I thought I was going to fall over from the chemicals that were being released. It took four cycles to remove 90% of whatever chemical smell was in them. It was a lot of work and time!!! In the end final Conclusion is these are well made towels and probably the best of what's available out there for being oversized, soft, plush, absorbent, and hold color well. I believe I will have these towels for a long time to come and be happy with them in the end. ... show more

received this april 11th and return window is gone but just took out second set in the 8 pc towels . had been using the one and washing etc and LOVED it because extremely thick ,heavy and excellent.. NOT SO the second bath towel it's paper thin and while same color it's half the weight of not less... obviously there was an error. try to contact seller via Amazon information and it's a PROPANE COMPANY. that's the telephone # and website they have as contact support.. so now I am stuck with a crappy inferior towel in n otherwise great set.. while I did want to return it I do think the company which says it has 100% guarantee is not on Amazon for a chair to contact. ... show more

The advertised size of Superior's hand towels is 16X30". NOT! They are 20X30". An important distinction for some design looks. While also doubting the 800gsm description, I must say that these are very soft, comfortable and substantial towels. Plan to buy more, including bath towels, for another bathroom. *UPDATE: Washed all four, then started using, one by one. Got to 4th towel, and found disintegrating hem (see photo).
