  • Protects the blades
Color: Red Style: Guard
These are definitely walkable when you put on your skates and I didn't have to cut any of the protector to shorten it. I wear an 7.5 in bauer vapor skates. Would recommend anyone who wants to protect their blades or carry them without cutting everything else

  • Solid construction, easy to adjust
Color: Black Style: Guard
I'm new to skating so have never used a product like this, but it was super easy to adjust to fit my skates. Some reviews complained about lack of adequate instructions, but realistically it would take longer to read instructions than figure it out for myself as it was so obvious.

  • Thick guards That last
Color: Red Style: Guard
Use to buy the thin cheap guards that use to last my son a month or 2. For the few extra bucks these are way better. 8 months now and still using them. So no brainer when I had to buy for my other kids. TIP: If you need to cut theses to size leave 2 inches. They will last longer and give you more room if your kids get bigger skates. ... show more

  • Don't stay on well...
Color: Black Style: Guard
They don't stay on very well, compared to another brand I got for our son. They are good for a covering, but I don't know if I would trust walking far on them or on something that can ruin the skates.

  • So much easier!
Color: Black Style: Guard
These make it so much easier to get skates on at home and then head to the rink all ready to go! I recommend them!

  • Replacement for the 'Soakers' Terry cloth skate guards
Color: Blue Style: Guard
We've tried all the terry cloth skate guards. After a few months, they would be cut and torn. In case you're wondering, yes, the skates would be dried with a towel before placing in the soakers. Surprisingly, the last time the skates went for a sharpening, the very kind man in the shop said, are you using soakers? The soakers are actually rusting the blades. But I thought the soakers had a special whatever they're called to specifically NOT rust the blades. WHAT? So why have I let my hard working cash go fly fly? I mean, I am a little crazy but I do like quality, durability and stability. Going back to the soakers looking as if Edward Scissorhands took hold of them, It was back to buying another pair of soakers, then another, and another. So far have had these skate guards for 2 months. No cuts, no bruises. After hockey, you dry the skates with a towel and place the hard plastic guards on them. 3 stars for now but if they hold up, I will add the other 2. ... show more

  • They do a good job but don't trust them.
Color: Blue Style: Guard
So with my new pro stock skates I have been trying out some new tech that wasn't available back when I last played regularly in the 80s and 90s. I had seen these skate guards used by various people and decided to try them out instead of the traditional skate soakers I had always had previously. So the packaging doesn't do a super great job of explaining how to put these things onto your skates. There are some hieroglyphics that kind of point you into a vague direction of what to do but as a adult man of above average intelligence it took me a solid 5-10 minutes to figure out what to do. To give the hint to everyone else if you were stuck like me, the part that locks onto the back of the skate is removable and you can place it as far up or down as you require to fit the length of your skate. Fitting your skate into the guard takes a little bit when it is brand new. You really have to push to properly seat the toe and to pull the back into the heel. I would imagine this will get easier after using it for awhile and the rubber material stretches out a bit. They seem to protect the blades quite well, I would venture to say perhaps better than traditional skate soakers which while would help keep the blades dry wouldn't always help keep your skates sharpened. Now the manufacturer states several things which I am suspect of; you can walk on them and that they will wisk away water to keep rust away. I am a big guy (6'4, 225) and I am not going to believe that the material can support someone of my size standing on two giant knife blades. As for the the rust thing, I had heard this from various products in the past and I have never trusted it then nor will I now. Do yourself a favor and bring a towel to wipe down your boots and blades before you put the guards back on. While they might do better nothing is full proof. I have had these for a couple of weeks now and seem to be holding up ok. I will check back in a few months for a further trip report. ... show more
