Description

Heavy-duty industrial-grade landscaping fabric is made from non-woven polypropylene, a durable and resilient material that offers superior tensile strength. It provides long-term protection for gardens, flowerbeds, and other landscape areas and can withstand harsh outdoor elements and extreme temperatures. Industrial and commercial grade fabric is super strong, but can still be cut with a sharp pair of scissors or razor blade. It is a great choice for big and small landscaping projects. Featuring a tear-resistant construction, this fabric provides strength against all the elements. Non-woven needle punched fabric is the best choice for all types of drainage projects like French drains or any project where the highest water flow is needed. With superior water permeability, it allows water to flow freely through the material preventing pooling and runoff and reducing erosion. At Super Geotextile, we’re dedicated to providing premium-quality geotextile fabrics designed to meet the toughest demands. We understand that the right materials make all the difference. That’s why we rigorously test and stand behind our products. Our mission is simple: deliver the best geotextile solutions that help build stronger, more durable, and sustainable projects. We’re proud to be a trusted name in the industry and committed to quality. Strengthens soil for construction projects. Ideal for driveways, retaining walls, and stabilizing slopes. Lasts for years. Geotextile fabric is a permeable material that stabilizes soil, controls erosion, and improves drainage by separating and reinforcing soil layers. Woven geotextiles are stronger and used for reinforcement, while nonwoven ones are better for drainage and filtration. Clear the area, lay the fabric flat, overlap edges 12–24 inches, and secure with staples. Cover with soil or gravel. Prevents weeds while allowing water and air through. Durable, easy to install, and perfect for gardens and landscaping. Yes, but it’s not recommended as a primary solution. While it blocks some sunlight and reduces weed growth initially, it’s designed for drainage and soil stabilization. We suggest using Super Geotextile Weed Barrier. Direct UV exposure shortens their lifespan, so keep them buried or shielded for best results. Controls erosion and manages water flow. Use in French drains, landscaping, and other drainage projects.

  • Thick and easy to work with
Material Type: Weight: 6 OZ Size: 4' x 50'
My project with this was lining a French drain trench, 300+ feet, just along the ‘banks’ after the landscaping company neglected to put in any fabric. That was a really bad choice, because the clay just washes into the gravel then, and will clog up the drain ditch in no time. I couldn’t dig out all the gravel and line the whole thing, but it occurred to me that the worst erosion will be along the surface, so I bought this to line the edges. I cut strips of about 12-16 inches in width, and used some ingenuity and tools I had to try to tuck it in between the clay and the gravel. That was a LOT of work, but this fabric held up well. It’s thicker and more substantial, and drains far better, than regular landscape fabric. Geotextile fabric has a different purpose; it’s not something you put down under mulch. Consider it more of a soil retention fabric than a weed blocker; the aggressive Bermuda grass manages to poke through it, though the other weeds that plague my yard don’t seem to. So far I’ve used it to line my French drain as above, and seen how much it reduces the washing of clay into the effluent water; I used it under two retaining walls, and watched delightedly as the rain filtered through the clay soil and then the fabric, running clear as it went to the drain. If you have a project that needs geotextile fabric, this is excellent stuff. I used the 6 oz weight, because I wasn’t sure what I needed and it was right in the middle; it has definitely met expectations and even exceeded them. I bought more from this supplier when I realized how well it worked. Oh, and price wise? Compared to local landscape supply shops, the quality is better and the price is, too. If I need it again, I’ll buy it from this vendor. ... show more

  • Look no further. This is it! High quality, supple & strong Look no further. This is it! High quality, supple & strong
Material Type: Weight: 8 OZ Size: 3' x 50'
If you are looking for a strong yet supple, environmentally friendly barrier material that allows air and water filtration to use in your garden or other outdoor environment, this is it. I spent a lot of time looking for a material to meet my needs. My requirements were: 1) to use in an outdoor garden, 2) to prevent weed growth, 3) material that would hold up under stone, 4) allows water to flow through it quickly, 5) allows air movement, 6) would not degrade quickly, and 7) would not degrade and leave all sorts of stupid little plastic shreds in the soil over time. If you’ve experienced this, you know what I’m taking about. (IMHO, Petro chemicals should not be knowingly added to soil/garden space). I ended up going with the Heavy Duty Super Geotextile, non-woven 8 oz. weight, in the 3’ x 50’ length. I used this as a layer in a garden next to the house, on top of existing soil, and under stone (gravel) that was added. It is intended as a weed barrier. Bushes will be planted in front of this area, and in the future I do not want to have to climb back in this area over bushes, to do weeding. I could not be happier with this choice. First of all, as other reviewers have noted, the material is like a thick felt. It is supple so you can move and adjust it exactly as you need to lay it down just right. The material is also very strong. It’s not just going to rip or tear on you. You will need a sharp scissors to cut it. Garden staples will go through it easily, if they have pointed ends and you use a hammer. This is head and shoulders so much better quality than the cheap junk sold in hardware or big box stores, (which rips when you just look at it). Not even in the same league. Does this product cost more? Yes. Do you get what you pay for? Yes. Keep in mind how much your time, and wear and tear on your body, is worth. Your future self will thank you for saving time, not having to dig up junky weed block in a few years and re-do everything. Do it right and do it once. I’ve included pictures of the project, before, during, and completed. ... show more

  • Awesome material - easy to work with.
Material Type: Weight: 8 OZ Size: 3' x 50'
WOW, 8 mm is a really nice thickness and has a felt feel. I had grass finding it's way through seams in our rock garden, 3 years old now. Moved the rocks, exposed large areas and cleaned it out then recovered with this material. Did a 6-8" overlap, it's so thick I'm sure it'll last for years. Awesome choice, It'll save tons of cost and work in the long run. ... show more

Amazingly thick and durable. Nothing like it in the retail store. So reasonable for the quality and quantity.

  • Great for Gardens and Drainage Systems Great for Gardens and Drainage Systems
Material Type: Weight: 4 OZ Size: 3' x 50'
I purchased the 4oz product and it is a very thick high quality material. I used it to wrap a French drain in an area that had a lot of standing water. I then used it as ground cover before building a rock garden in that same area. Part of the drainage system included a couple drain basins. Because this fabric is permeable I was able to cover the grates on the basins so we didn’t have to see them. The material easily lets water right through to the basins and filters out the soot and debris. It’s easy to install with spikes. The only complaint my wife had is that it is difficult to cut. I would suggest investing in very strong sharp scissors. I personally found it easier to cut with a razor but my wife prefers scissors, probably because she is a teacher. It is a thick, well made product and I wish I would’ve discovered it sooner. ... show more

  • good quality and effective weed barrier while letting water through good quality and effective weed barrier while letting water through
My wife and I have used this product in our garden to help us reduce maintenance. In one location where we have raised bed boxes (see picture), we just laid out the Geofabric in between the boxes and tried to get it under the boxes by 3-4 inches to reduce exposed dirt that helps grass/weed growth. We did not clear the grass in those areas; just rolled out the fabric. The picture is taken 6 weeks after installation in April (in Virginia) when its max growth period. We weed manually a handful of weed that grows through. The second picture is the raised bed with plastic mulch, which basically covers where you growth things and has a drip line under the plastic for watering. We used Geofabrics in he walkways and covered it with 3 inches of mulch. So far, no weed growing at all but I expect to get some shooting through the fabric by the end of summer. Again, the idea is to minimize not eliminate weeding. For both these projects, we cut the 4-ft wide fabric into 2-ft wide sections and used that in the perimeter of the garden. Then used 6-inch staples to secure them. This allows us to mow the grass around the edges with the mower deck going over the fabric and not pulling it up. This was our biggest issue given the size of our garden and need to have the ability to use a riding mower to cut the grass quickly and efficiently. I have also used it as a french drain and will see how well it works this year. This Geofabric is the heaviest density I have found at 8 OZ. It is non-woven, which means it lets water through (woven fabric is like a tarp with not water penetration). I think its worth every penny even if it lasts 1-2 years. I think we should cover it with mulch to prevent UV deterioration but my wife wants to see the weeds to pull as they come up. We are testing her way and mine and use the insights for next year. Finally, I'm building a 300-ft gravel road and debating if I should use woven or non-woven. I'm leaning towards woven fabric to prevent water penetration and loss of stone dust in the gravel that holds of the road. Need to do some more research or even testing to see which is better. ... show more
