This was my first produce order with Amazon and I'll admit I was extremely skeptical about what the potential quality I should expect. I am VERY impressed!! These oranges are perfection!! It's as if someone just as detail oriented and persnickety as myself went and hand selected them and I'm amazed and super grateful! If you love oranges but haven't yet tried these Dekopon (Sumo Citrus) oranges - you may find them life changing! They are large, luscious, sweet, and super easy to peel. They are called Sumo Citrus due to the cute little top knot they have (like a Sumo Wrestler). They have a very short growing season (basically February-April or thereabouts) and then that's it - no more until next year! This rarity comes with a price that might cause sticker shock for some - but if you can afford it, I think they're worth it! :D And if this order is an indication of the quality of fruit one can expect regularly from this service, then I heartily recommend ordering them. ... show more

These Dekopon mandarins were absolutely delicious! Super juicy, naturally sweet, and almost completely seedless. The flavor is rich and refreshing with the perfect balance of sweetness and citrus. One of my favorite things is how easy they are to peel, making them a perfect quick snack for both kids and adults. They arrived fresh, looked great, and stayed fresh longer than expected. The mandarin I received in my May 1st Whole Foods order was huge & plump & sweet, w/a knob on its top even bigger than the one shown on the listing. I was able to peel the skin away w/no difficulty & its segments were large & easy to break away from the whole fruit. I wasn't sure of the quality available at this time of the year, but there was nothing disappointing about the one I received. They definitely are pricey, though, so I won't be eating more than one or two a week, but since I can buy fruits singly at Whole Foods—which I can no longer do via my local supermarkets' online ordering for delivery—I can enjoy other fruits on the other days. And it's not difficult to get together a $35 minimum order for delivery within just a few hours if I need something sooner than I expected. ... show more

These are the best tasting, sweetest oranges 🍊 that I've ever had, and I'm from Florida, and now live in Orange, California, so I know my oranges. These Sumo oranges are also the easiest and most fun oranges to peal, as once you tear off the large lump on the top, the skin is usually a bit separated from the fruit, when they are ripe. Actually, the best way to tell if they are ripe is to feel just how separated the skin is, from the fruit. The sweetest ones will feel like there is space between the skin and the pulp, making it easy to tell when they are ready to eat. ... show more
