I got the larger of these as my daughter currently wears a size 3.5 shoe but these are huge, even at the smallest setting. On the smallest size, her toes are a good 1.5 inches away from the tip of the shoe. I'm not a huge fan of the laces on kids skates as I think the rachet strap option is easier to adjust but the laces are nice and plenty long enough to tie up the bottom part of the skate. The light up wheels are nice and definitely something kids will love. The colors and look overall are also very nice, sweet but not too girly. I will say that the top strap is almost impossible to pop open without some sort of tool or leverage, even if you undo the band first so beware of that. ... show more

    • Nice skates from what I can tell.

Preface: I am no expert. The skates I am most familiar with are the ones that your computer mouse uses to glide across the pad. But, these skates seem great. The shoelaces seem kind of redundant, in a good way. The adjustable buckle and velcro strap make it so easy to snug these up to my son's feet that we haven't bothered with the laces. Also, not super big into gendering the skates based on the color, but what are you going to do? My 4 year old son picked the white and purple ones because that's what he wanted. Anyhow, the adjustable length of these is rather impressive. We measured his foot at 6.25" and the small size fits him pretty well at the smallest size it will adjust to. This is great because he keeps growing out of everything before we get a chance to get accustomed to it. These skates should last him a while, relatively, at least. I was expecting the adjusting part to be very little adjustment and/or kind of corny but there is a LOT of room for adjustment and it does not appear to affect the sturdiness/quality of the skates themselves. Out of the box, these things have been rolling pretty aggressively. We've been researching how to make them roll a little less through adjusting them and/or buying bearings with a little more friction. Before I delve into the details of how amazing these roller skates are, please double-check the size chart and the note below. I made the mistake of ordering the wrong size, thinking that “Y” indicated years, which is not the case. From a more practical perspective, our 4-year-old, with a foot length of about 6.5 inches, can comfortably use the size Small with the length adjusted to the shortest setting, ensuring they will last for a while. The size Large fits an adult with a foot size of Women’s 8.5-9, but only when the skates are fully extended, and even then, it’s a snug fit, so that would be the maximum. The quality of these skates is outstanding; everything feels solid and well-constructed. The purple color is very appealing - it’s vibrant but not excessively colorful, striking a balance that avoids making them look like a toy. These skates have a premium appearance that belies their actual price. They arrive in a well-packaged, sizeable box, with each skate individually enclosed in a textile bag. The skates also include some spare parts and a wrench for tightening the screws if needed. My daughter's brand-new light-up roller skates have brought her immense joy and excitement. As parents, we wanted to introduce her to roller skating, especially since she enjoys ice skating so much. These skates have exceeded our expectations in every way. The brand offers an awesome entry price point without compromising on quality. These skates are it! The colors and light up wheels make them even cooler then "regular" skates to kids! We love the adjustability as one size can stay with a growing child longer (hopefully) before having to buy a whole new pair. I love that these have "room to grow". Each size adjustment locks solidly into place, too. They're sturdy enough to last a few years, and on growing feet, it's nice that they will actually last through some growth spurts. The lights make them extra cool, too!

The only issue I have is the front stopper seems to be a weird material but should be fine for kids skates.
