Bought these for my 6 year old granddaughter. She put them on and skated immediately. The color and wheels that light up were a great hit. They seem very well made. She wears a 1 shoe so I bought the Youth Medium that fit pretty good. The only drawback is the top of the skate does not fit tight against her leg and she has a lot of space which does not give her the great support I was looking for but overall she has not had any problem. She also has to wear heavy socks because the inside hurt her ankle where there is a little hump on the inside because it is adjustable and since the top doesn't fit tight it lets her foot rub up and down when she picks her feet up and down. I wish the strap at the top of the skate was more adjustable for smaller legs. Overall though I think as she grows it will do much better. This does not stop her from putting them on and having loads of fun. I did buy the round skate trainer as a safety measure until she is comfortable on the skates. ... show more

I know skating rinks are not as big as they were in my day. Ohh how I loved being dropped off by my mom at the rink. So, I was excited when my daughter wanted a pair of roller skates, even though she did not know how to skate. My daughter actually learned to skate with these. She actually taught herself just rolling around the house. She is a pro now and can navigate a rink with ease in these. I like the way the wheels light up as she rolls around in them. She likes it too. She says that they feel comfortable and they do give her the support that she needs, especially in the ankle area. Grand daughter adores the skates. A month after receiving them, she straps them on as soon as she arrives here for a visit. She adds the pads, helmet, and ta-da - she's transformed into a big girl - full pre-teen attitude and self confidence, ready to roll. I bought these for my soon to be 8 year old to take lessons for her birthday party. They are so cute, really well made, and a little heavier than expected. I bought the medium as the chart said youth 13.5-3. my daughter wears a 1. When they arrived, they are labeled as medium 1.5-5!!! So definitely not what's advertised. She'll have to wear layers of socks to keep them from slipping. ... show more
