This is an okay tool. It works great. The teeth wear out quick.

    • Not good for deep drain fixture.
If the drain fixture is deep, you can't get the rod thru the hole. I was able to use it but the tool needs to be longer so the rod can fit thru the hole without hitting the sink.

    • Make your job easier and correct everytime
I have tried using needle nosed pliers to secure the kitchen basket strainer while tightening the nut and it is not a pleasant experience.....this tool makes it a snap!

I need to return this with the no package option. The teeth are to big and the diameter was to large.

I'm not a plumber, but I probably do more plumbing than the average homeowner. So I can't vouch for how this would hold up in an industrial setting, but if you find yourself re-plumbing a kitchen sink or two a year, this is utterly worth it. I've been using an ad-hoc system with vice grips and a screwdriver passed though the drain to try to lock it in place, and as a result of screwdrivers slipping I've accidentally punched myself in the face on more than one occasion. This prevents that. I would like to have found it several years ago. The fit is surprisingly tight. I only have used the 4-hole side of this, but it takes a little bit of wiggling to fully seat the wrench into the drain. But as a result it doesn't slip out, and it grips really well. Doesn't noticeably mar or damage the drain, so it can be reused if you need to. I really have no complaints on this one, other than wishing I had known it existed sooner. ... show more

This strainer basket wrench has a very specific use - holding the sink strainer basket while you tighten the installation plate - and for that use, it's perfect. It has two ends, one that works with a three-slot sink basket and one that works with a four-slot basket, and a handle that can be threaded through to hold it. If you're replacing your sink basket, you'll need this, and of course if you do a lot of them, this will be very handy. ... show more
