Description

From the Manufacturer When you look at the Titan hammers from Stiletto Tool Co., you can see it's a well crafted tool. What you can't see is that this may be the lightest framing hammer you'll ever hold. Stiletto Tool Company proudly traces its history to the earliest days of the California Gold Rush. Since 1849, we have provided professionals and homeowners the tools that have literally shaped the building of the West. Today, Stiletto's line of Titanium hammers brings the tradition into the 21st century. Lighter by nearly half the weight of conventional hammers, Stiletto's line of Titanium hammers significantly decreases the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive-motion, stress-related injuries. The lightness of Titanium creates a greater head velocity with less effort. Its strength assures there is no loss in driving power.

  • Nails don't stand a chance.
This is a great hammer. The comfortable curved hickory handle makes you want to hold it in your hand and find things to hit with it. I purchased this hammer for 2 reasons. The first being the wood handle and the second being the titanium head. I had been using a steel shaft hammer for years, but after hearing that the vibration can lead to elbow problems, I decided I should probably switch hammers. I decided on the Stiletto because not only did it have the wood handle, But it was a lightweight hammer that swings like a much heavier hammer thanks to the titanium head. I wear a tool belt all day and having a lighter hammer in it makes a huge difference. I also like the smooth face over the waffle because it allows the hammer to be multipurpose. I can move from framing to siding with it without having to worry about putting waffle prints everywhere. I would not think twice about purchasing this again if something were to happen to my current one. I have been using this hammer for about a year now and hope to be using it for many more to come. ... show more

  • Stiletto review
for a long time ive been using the estwing 24 oz. hammer for framing and a 16 for trim. I love the estwing, I didnt't really think about switching at all, however I received the stiletto as a gift and was really taken with the hammer. Ive been doing mostly framing with it and it really does drive like a 24, but you get more control. drives a 16d in three moderate strikes (if you dont miss). Works great for trim too, but the long handle is kind of annoying when you are kneeling alot. My biggest concern with the hammer is breaking the handle. I've been keeping my steel hammer near by for heavy demo or for driving cut masonry nails. Titanium is technically only supposed to drive unhardened steel. I did beat the hell out of my nail claw with it and didn't notice any damage to the striking face. Its a great hammer, but its expensive. It would be a great for someone that doesn't have pneumatics. Pros: drives well, nail starter that works well, replacement handles are $12, claw that will pull a trim nail, magnet starter also works to lazily pick up a nail you drop with out bending over much, Cons: price, worry about the softer titanium wearing out quicker due to striking hardened steel (cut nails, nail claws, wreaking bars) I would sooner invest in a nice occidental tool belt, then the hammer ;) ... show more

Exactly what you would expect out of a stiletto hammer...

  • Hits Like A Ton Of Bricks
After battling tennis elbow from years of heavy hammers I decided to try something completely different, a lighter hammer. Time will tell how it works out. This thing hits like a ton of bricks. The face is huge, so swinging hard and missing isn't much of an issue. I have big paws and I like the wood handle size and shape on this hammer. My fingers aren't fighting my palm for a grip like with my Estwing. This hammer also is much lighter on the belt, which after a long day is definitely a noticeable difference. Recoil is also much less than my previous hammer. It was hard giving up my hammer of 20 years, but I had to give it a try. ... show more

  • Seems less well made than my old one.
I had my last Stiletto for over a decade before it got stolen. The new one has a thicker handle, presumably for strength, and the little nail holder magnet fell out within a week, which is annoying given the price tag.

  • It’s a masterpiece. Home run hammer.
It is truly a lifetime hammer. Built so well for all day to occasional work. It’s light to carry all day or throw in your tool box for the honey do and look like a pro. The titanium head combined with that bad ass handle, you will never loose grip, and will sink a nail like going though butter. I love mine and bought this one for my 22 year old son. Don’t even consider another hammer. This is gold. Handle is easily replaced but I recommend pulling stubborn nails with a dedicated nail puller. It is of course a wooden handle, great for swinging, I mean what to pro baseball players swing. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion! Home run hammer! ... show more

  • Maybe the last hammer you'll ever buy
I used to have a problem with tennis elbow from swinging a 32oz hammer and even when i scaled back to a 24oz I still had some pain. This hammer is light as a feather and yet I still feel like I can drive 16's in the same number of hits. I feel like it's easier to be accurate because of the light weight so I hit with more force. I've had this hammer in service for several years now and as I get more into finish work I still find it's the best one to keep in my belt. Even though i have a smooth face I don't notice any tendency to slip off the nail head. It seemed like alot of money at the time, but I've never regretted it and I still enjoy using it every time. Just a great all-around hammer! ... show more

  • Good luck
Dont hesitate pulling the trigger on this hammer, yes it is pricy however the length and weight makes up for it, the swing and pulling torque is unbeleivable. I did purchase the rubber grip with it. That makes a huge gripping advantage. I also have forearm arthritic, pain so this helps make up the loss, swing a lighter hammer with a longer handle makes for greater speed, power, and accuracy, the nail magnet on the head doesn't only hold a nail, it can be used to pick up light items without reaching to the ground which saves time and body.
