I finally found the perfect boot. I am wearing them now to “break them in” although they are so comfortable I don’t feel as if I have to. They just arrived. Super comfortable and are just like the picture. I was concerned because of some of the reviews but mine are wonderful! Sorry to those who got less than perfect. So I impulse bought these because they're exactly what I need for a number of my outfits and I didn't really read the reviews before I ordered. Once I did read all the reviews about fakes and boots falling apart I panicked a bit but didn't cancel my order because I have had really good luck on Amazon so far. My biggest buys being my laptop two pairs of docs and some timberlands and everything has been authentic despite some reviews saying they were fake. THE POINT IS I do think there are people piggy backing fakes into real orders I have no idea how but I think it has something to do with where you live. I live near shipping ports and all my orders come quickly and are right. I think if you live somewhere more remote the likely hood of fakes is bigger. So trust your gut and past ordering experiences and make sure you have a foolproof return method on anything pricey. The boots (if real) are perfect and smell leathery and wonderful.

These shoes required very little break in and fit my feet well even though they are wide. They’re the perfect fall shoe and go with almost every outfit. I have bigger calves so the midi shaft height is perfect

Boots are comfortable and true to size, but I’ve seen better leather in lesser brands. Arch support is low, or non existent but the boots are quite comfortable to wear. The neck is quite wide. If you have slim ankles, it will be loose. Other than that, these are good boots

I bought these because I really wanted a pair of nice boots in black. I’ve had other footwear from Steve Madden and they lasted for a long time. I honestly didn’t read the reviews first but I’m sorry for the people that have gotten fakes, however mine seem to be the real deal and I love them! I’m wearing them around the house to break them in as leather needs time to mold to your foot, I also added insoles because I do need more support, however I don’t think that would be the case for everyone.

These are a genuine leather boot. The fit is comfortable with the laces to adjust the fit and the side zipper for ease of putting on and off. The leather is soft, but still stiff enough to keep it’s shape. It’s not a heavy leather, but at this price point, it’s still a very good value. The brown is a darker brown, without being so dark, that it won’t pair with khakis or cargos. The height is above the ankle, which I prefer and looked for. The inside sole is not padded, so if you get sore feet or want a softer feel to your foot strike, you’ll have to add an insole. Not a big deal. No quilting or any lining like that. The only drawback I can list is, there seems to be a larger than normal difference in sizing from a 7 1/2 to a size 8. I usually wear a 7 1/2. Because I looked for a boot that was over my ankle, and intended to wear them in snow, I have both a size 7 1/2 and an 8. I wanted the option to double up, or wear super heavy socks in snowy cold temperatures, and like the boot, so my normal size, and a half size larger for bad weather. The 7 1/2 fit as I would expect. The 8, is more like an 8 1/2. Even tried on with socks designed for sub zero temperatures, the boots were roomy. I even double checked the size, just to be sure I hadn’t ordered wrong, or received the wrong size. So, I was faced with a decision: did I return the size 8’s, and just look for a different manufacturer, or keep them and know they’ll be somewhat loose? Especially as I knew going down a half size wouldn’t solve the issue. It’s hard to find real leather boots, much less real leather at this price, so I decided to keep them. In the honesty of full disclosure, I actually ordered more than 1 pair, and kept them all (I really like the style and affordable women’s genuine leather boots in a semi military style are not easy to find, hence the multiple order when I did). I’m happy with the purchase and price. If the sizing on the 8’s was a bit more accurate, these would be exactly what I want. As it is, the sizing issue isn’t a deal breaker, just something I thought I should mention for other people.
