I’m beyond happy with this purchase. I was skeptical about buying a mass produced drum off of Amazon, but I’m just starting out. This drum is solid, well constructed, and pretty! It has great sound with long sustain for each tone. Some of the high note tongues are harder to play, but it only took a few minutes to figure out where to hit each one for optimal sound. Within 15 minutes I was playing recognizable songs, but I will same the the drum I purchased is tuned to D and the songbook included was written for drums tuned to C so some of them sound really weird. Overall it’s so fun to play and so relaxing that I gave it 5 stars anyways. There’s lots of sheet music available free online and personally I plan to use this mostly to just freestyle. Very good quality, much better than expected, and I plan to buy another smaller one in a different key from them. ... show more

The item arrived well packaged and in good condition, but it just doesn't meet expectations. It has a nice sound, but one of the "keys" hardly resonates when you strike it. Also, there are no accidentals (i.e. the black keys on a piano), so when you try to play some of the songs in the songbook, notes that you need to play that song properly just aren't there.
