I got this because my son wanted to learn how to play, and so far he has stuck with it and is pretty good at it. It’s very well crafted, and extremely sturdy and durable. You can play with the drumsticks, or the finger rings, which he is in the process of learning. The sounds it makes are very pleasant, and also quite soothing. I purchased this as a gift. Otherwise I would have returned it. The sticks were made cheaply. The drum was pretty, but it is too hard for a three year old to hit just where they needed to in order to get a good sound.

Overall its pretty cool, much bigger in person which is a positive and feels really sturdy. The only real downside is that a few of the notes are completely out of tune and just sound like hitting metal instead of a tone.

The sound is very nice and my sister - a music teacher of small kids - said it really is nice and she was planning to add a few of these to her classroom for her students.
