I am amazed at how good a job this tool does. I have multiple hand-knit sweaters that have a ton of pills. One was so bad, I was a bit embarrassed to wear it. The Steamery Pilo # 2 worked like a charm. My sweater now looks like it just came off the needles (i.e., brand new). The only down side is how often I had to stop to clean it. But that may be due to how badly pilled the sweater was.

This was a disappointing purchase. When it was new, it was tricky to use but it got the job done. The chamber filled up with the shavings quickly, so to treat one sweater, I had to stop several times to awkwardly clean out the chamber and get all the fuzz out of the blades. But then after a year, it stopped working completely because it wouldn't charge up. I plug it in, and the light doesn't go on. If I press the button, the motor springs to life for one second, but then dies, even if it's plugged in. I reported this to the company, and because I was passed the one-year warranty period, they wouldn't do anything except give me a coupon to buy a brand new device. I think $65 is too much to spend on a device that only works for a year, and now I'll be sending mine to the landfill, which makes me sad.

The media could not be loaded. Received January 27 2023. Review on February 10 2023. Thought this would be the first and last fabric shaver I would purchase. The unit in one instance turned on and didn't shutoff. Kept buzzing, until I found fabric that bunches up. That seemed to stop the motor so it would stop spinning. I was able to shut it off after that. It worked fine for a few days after that. The second mechanical issue happened when the shaver would turn on, but as soon as it touches the fabric, it shuts off. Or when it is flipped upside down, it shuts off instantly. I can't find a solution for this, so I contacted the seller. I have video of both these issues. So I can post them. However amazon only allows one video per review. Seems like a nice gadget, but it is unreliable. It is incredibly frustrating. When it works, it works great. Hopefully I can find a fix. I know, first world problems. I wanted to have a higher end de-piller, and this is what I got. Hope it helps. Update: February 16 2023 or so. We charged the device completely and both issues disappeared. It charged overnight. The motor sounded stronger and it didn’t hesitate when being placed on fabric. Also no shutting off. Hope it keeps working like this.

The holes on this are so small that only about half of the pills on my sweaters fit through. It’s pretty and rechargeable but it’s basically useless. Don’t buy if you’re planning to use on sweaters. It won’t remove the balls that are regular sized.

I got this due to great reviews and largely the USB-C charging. That has proven a great convenience, and I love that I'm not going through and tossing out batteries like people do with other fabric shavers. The ability to use it while it's charging is co convenient. I figured if it refreshed one cashmere sweater it would have paid for itself. But we've finding countless sweaters, hats, and other things to use it one. What a difference. It's easy to become blind to how ratty your clothing is getting, but once you use this, you'll be shocked at what you've been going out in public wearing! One gripe: The cleaning brush (which is pretty crucial) should be in an on-board slot, not separate. Why have to go searching for that when it's time to clean? And doing a typical sweater might mean 4 to 8 emptying of the shaver and brushing off the sharp blades. Favorite thing: It's magic! - Erick The Reviewer

Pilo is a sleek, well-designed device that uses USB-C for charging—a nice modern touch. I used it on my L-shaped three-seater couch, and it worked wonders! It effortlessly removed all the tiny bobbles and lint, transforming my couch fabric to look smooth, clean, and almost new. The battery life is impressive—I didn’t need to recharge it even once during the entire process. The lint are stored within the shaver and it's very easy to clean. I really wanted to love this! I didn't, for a number of reasons, but mostly because to clean it you cannot remove the blade holder, you must clean around it, using the brush that is included with the unit. That is a hazard that I am not willing to risk. Hopefully you'll fix this and I will surely reconsider.
