As expected, if kid has long hair it will be hard to get the head piece on so we opened the inside of the piece and took some stuffing out and left it open so my daughter could insert her hair in there instead. My daughter is a petite 9 year old (52 lbs, 50” tall) that fits well in size 7 clothing. We ordered the size 7/8 and it fits her slender body perfectly. If your child is not slender, I’d go up a size. The head piece is a bit small and we debated going up a size just to see if the head piece fit better. Def made better than expected. Sized pretty tru maybe a little on the small side but not by much. It should fit the way it does I think. Great purchase. My daughter will be wearing it to a comic convention we are going to.

I would give 5 out of 5 if the head piece was not so shallow/small fitting. We had to Bobby pin the headpiece to fit on our daughter's head.
