This is a review of the "Stanley 016011R Series 2000 16-Inch Tool Box" Pros: Very cheap for the amount of space. I payed a little over $9. Sturdy plastic (but that keeps it light) Great colors (Black and yellow, you know what it is...) Cons: Plastic mold pour. They didn't do a great job cleaning the pour edges, but with a file or sandpaper this is easily remedied. The storage compartments on top are deeper than expected, which means less storage possibilities on the removable shelf. As others have stated the latch doesn't seem secure but if you do not overfill your toolbox the latch clicks securely into place. Overall thoughts: For the price point, this can't be beat. It definitely has situational value. I wouldn't purchase this if you are planning to head to a job site and need something heavy duty. If you are looking to construct a small toolbox for home repairs and small projects this works wonders as it will cut down on the number of trips back and forth to the garage for tools. I used it as a computer assembly kit and it fits the bill just right! ... show more

  • Inexpensive and Sturdy for Expensive ART Supplies or for Light to Medium Use with Tools
This is a great and inexpensive tool box. I got it for my daughter to hold her art supplies which are somewhat expensive and to make it easier for her to organize and also carry them around if needed. This is much less expensive than an art specific box, and since I couldn't get her to give me much information on what she wanted, I got this to protect her supplies until she ever decides on something different. That probably will never happen as this seems to fit her needs. The removable tray is nice to hold small items and keep them from getting banged around with bigger supplies in the bottom, and the additional trays on the lid are an added bonus. I don't know how you can go wrong at under $10. I may buy another to keep in the house to hold some basic tools that i use for small repairs inside the house so I don't have to run around to find them when I need them back in the garage or elsewhere. ... show more

  • Great tool box for home maintenance
Pros: Good size for the house, sturdy, plenty of compartments Cons: None I got this toolbox primarily for tools I use around the house, things I would need to use a few times a week. It's perfect for holding a few screwdrivers, a tape measure, various rolls of tape, and pliers. Don't expect to fit a complete tool set in here. The upper tray is convenient for holding more common items while the bottom compartment has enough space for bulkier items. I also do a lot of computer repair and building, so this tool box is perfect for those those tools as well. ... show more

  • Makes a Great Tool Box for the Grandkids' Toy Tools
First off, let me make it clear that I am NOT a handyman. So don't mistake this for some kind of "Tim the Toolman" review." Last Christmas I got my then 2- and 3-year-old grandsons a toy workbench and some toy tools. What I needed to complete the ensemble was a tool box. This Stanley 16-inch tool box was perfect. Because it's plastic, it was light enough for either of them to carry. The latch was easy for them to open and close. The compartments in the lid worked great for small pieces--plastic nuts and bolts, etc. Best of all, it was durable ennough to still be in mint condition a year later after hours of use. Buying this Stanley tool box instead of some junky toy tool box was the smartest decision I made last Christmas. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ... show more

  • Great design and price
This tool box has a snap-type latch that works very well. I was concerned about the depth of the two small compartments in the lid, and whether they would interfere with how many tools I could store in the removable tray. They don't interfere at all, so far. I keep lots of screwdrivers in the tray, and the lid still closes completely without bumping the items in the tray. The tray also is designed to fit well, and does not slip off of its mounting points and fall into the bottom of the box owing to the weight of the screwdrivers I pile into it. All in all, a very nice functional tool box! ... show more

  • Great toolboxes for around the house or speciality use!
I LOVE these little tool boxes. I got a couple of them (one for a house toolbox so that I didn't have to go to the shed to get basic tools, and one as an electrician toolbox for all my wiring odds and ends) and they've been perfect. Sturdy, big enough to hold larger tools like a full sized hammer, but not so big to be awkwardly sized. Easy to toss in the closet when not in use. Definitely not meant as the primary toolbox (unless maybe you live in an apartment and just want a spot for a hammer and some screw drivers), but as a grab-and-go solution, these are perfect. ... show more

  • Good little tool box.
Really nice little toolbox. We purchased this for our 2 year old son to put toy tools in. The toy sets came with really low quality tool boxes that looked like they would break right away. This one is excellent and has held up to the abuse of a toddler. I would buy it as a real toolbox too, if you needed something small like this. I like the top storage bins, and the clip that holds the box closed is good quality. It seems like it will last a long time. ... show more
