I wanted this Stanley to be my reason to turn away from Yeti. I love the modern design, the all black, the non-fixed handle that can be tightened to be more fixed/harder to move, and the 50 oz capacity. It was nice to see that the bottle had 4 extra oz of capacity at the same price as Yeti’s 46 oz bottle. I need to drink lots of water throughout the day and the large capacity is awesome. The lightness was originally a selling point for me; while it can hold an astonishingly large 50 oz, since the bottle is relatively light in weight, it doesn’t feel too heavy to carry a full bottle around. However, where it excels in lightness it falls short in quality. It is glaringly lower quality than Yeti’s 46 oz bottle. This Stanley has thinner metal leading to poorer insulation. What frustrated me the most was realizing how much thinner the coating was compared to Yeti; I accidentally dinged it with a fork while heating up my lunch and chipped it! I’ve dropped my Yetis dozens of times and hit them with everything from forks and knives to granite countertops and haven’t had an issue with them chipping under light use. I even noticed it will take on light scratches from the plastic buckles on my lunch box if I let them touch while in my bag. Seriously poor coating. However, getting back to the pros, the leak resistance is great and when properly closed you can rest assured you won’t have spillage or leakage. Also the straw on this bottle is much nicer than the straws on Yeti bottles; less resistance and simply easier to sip. In the end, it’s a great water bottle that has a cool modern look and a huge capacity. Overall this comes in at 4/5 stars with only one star being lost to the thinner metal and thinner coating. I would still suggest getting the Yeti 46 oz instead for the thicker metal and coating as it will likely last longer and endure more. ... show more
