  • The scuff
Size: 7.5 Color: Black
I saw a lot of comments about the scuff. This scuff in the photo happened before I even left the house. I don't know how. Someone posted how to get rid of it. I have to find that review. Other than that, they're comfy. I've only been wearing them for 5 hours but my feet don't feel sweaty. They perforation isn't all the way through, there's a protective lining so they might how up well enough in light rain. I think they're rubber. Love the extra back padding on the heal. These were well thought out when designed. Nice office shoes. The ball of foot feels cushioned. My arches aren't rest on a mound but I don't think I'll get fatigue. It's like it's form to foot over time. Make sure to pull the tongue all the way up to release any pressure on the top of the foot, for those with thick feet. ... show more

  • Comfortable, poor quality.
Size: 11 Color: Black
I’ve had countless Stacey Adams dress shoes, as I wear them for work every day. These are extremely comfortable, and they look great. My caveat is that I’ve only had them for three months and wearing them on and off the soles have worn drastically, and they’ve split in multiple spots on both shoes. If this is something you’re only going to wear on accession than it’s a great choice, for daily attire I’d say don’t waste your money and buy a normal pair of Stacey Adams. ... show more

  • Synchro is a versatile, good looking and somewhat more casual oxford offering at a decent price
Size: 7 Color: Black
First and foremost keep in mind Stacy Adams shoes tend to run large....if not by at least half a size possibly bordering on a full size depending how you like your shoes to fit. I like a decent 1 to 1 and by that metric these like all Stacy shoes run nearly a size large because I'm a 15 in most if not all athletic shoes but if these came in a 15, they'd be way large With sizing out of the way-- this is one of Stacy Adams' better offerings in recent years. While often statement making in an oddly well accepted manner within even the professional realm, Stacy shoes have always had suspect comfort. The Synchro however provides sufficient comfort for casual use and light around town walking via whatever outsole material is being used and their so called Red Zone inserts. The outsole also retains a good appearance after wear which is welcome vs the likes of Cole Haan's Zero line the soles of which wrinkle permanently after first wear. In terms of the upper-- they say leather and textile but I'm not positive what might be leather though I don't think that matters as the shoe breathes well, the upper looks great and, at least initially, seems to resist any major toebox creasing if such matters to you as it does me. Another notable feature is the fact you don't have to ties these. Instead the shoe uses an elastic method while, via the use of what are effectively faux laces, giving the appearance of a traditional shoe in a package that is for all intents and purposes a slip on. Which especially when combined with the pull tab on the back make these easy to take on and off at whim which I personally appreciate given I live on the coast of the Pacific Northwest and.... between working from home, running into town for groceries, spending half the day on a beach but the evening finding oneself at a relatively nice restaurant in the evening and various walks, hikes, beach jaunts....I find myself often changing shoes 3 times a day or in and out of the same couple pairs during a given day. And so in that context the Synchro allows the utmost ease especially when changing shoes on the fly out the trunk as we're out and about. In terms of looks, I think the Synchro is a stunner of shoe especially when paired with the right pants. I think one might be pushing their luck wearing these with the suit (due primarily to the pull tab)......but pretty much every other option they work well and when I combine them with AE slim fit jeans, it's one of the best shoe and pants combos I've ever worn visually. All that being said however the Synchro is something of a minimalist shoe - it almost feels like it could use a tad more material around the sides of the ankles because there are times I'll put them on and I'm immediately wanting a bit more material or lockdown feel in the rear of the shoe. I actually think that feeling is a result of the insole which is quite thick but also, again, these are essentially slip ons so this may be by design and while I've only ever walked in them, they've never felt like my feet were going to slip out and that's with my relatively lean/bony feet so if a foot was going to come out, it'd be mine. The only question mark for me with these- though this is true of all shoes- would be long term durability. It remains to be seen if the upper and on most colors white or at the most off white outsole will wear and in the case of the latter, clean up. Speaking of colors- in vintage Stacy fashion there's a bevy of perhaps more nontraditional colors for a shoe in the oxford family including lime green so you definitely have a pick and so far at least I've purchased a black (goes with everything) and red (as it's already clear that color will be the hardest to obtain over time) with an eye on the lighter blue, white and perhaps even navy should the price come down at some point. And in terms of price- I actually think these are overpriced at full retail. For the materials (type and amount) I think they should be 20 percent less MSRP, 20 percent under current MSRP is all I've been willing to pay for my first couple pairs and I can't see myself paying more than 60-70 percent of current MSRP for any additional pairs because I think that's really a better reflection of their value given what you're getting. But all that being said, this shoe does have enough going for it for me to be wanting to buy multiple pairs and pay more than I normally would (like 20 percent off MSRP then another 20 percent off that via coupon etc.) and I have to REALLY like a shoe to do that so it speaks to how much I like the Synchro. Overall though -- if you're looking for a comfortable, versitile, sharp looking, relatively inexpensive (relative to the rest of the market and especially if purchased for less than MSRP) shoe with a variety of color options, the Synchro is definitely worthy of consideration with my only caveats being the unknown long term material durability, how the shoe wears visually with time and the fact you have to account for the fact you'll probably need to order at least if not a full size down. ... show more
