These are hand-beaded and wired together from delicate gold-tone wires. The pearls have a pleasant fake-pearl luster, but I was less excited by the rhinestones, which are kind of murky and dull, plus awkwardly attached. This is a set of two identical hair pieces. They have small metal alligator clips, and I thought they would work nicely as side clips, but unfortunately the weight of the pearls pulls them away from your head and downwards, so this really isn't possible. You can clip them in an up-do near a bun, using gravity on your side. These are bendable, so you can change the size and shape a bit by bending the pieces different directions. They also have some delicate movement, because the wires are springy and the whole assembly sort of bounces and jiggles a bit when you move. These arrived in a nice gift box. ... show more

Lovely! Lightweight, delicate, shiny. Will bend to conform to your head/hairstyle. The actual alligator clips are quite small so you may need to supplement with bobby pins. I own a lot of hair clips and wear them almost every day. I have a set of decorative clips from this company that are outstanding. I ordered these hoping to be just as impressed, but sadly these missed the mark for me. I have very fine, silky textured hair, so I need a light weight decorative clip or they will slide right out of my hair. These are light weight, but as soon as I put them in, they began to slip immediately The alligator clip is small on this set, which may be part of the problem. Since the decorations curve up, perhaps the clip would have been better positioned in the center? I'm sure they had their reasons, it just didn't work for my fine hair. The pearls are strung with bendable thin gold wires, which means you can shape these any way you want. That's a nice feature. It's also nice the pearls are strung and not glued. The rhinestones are cloudy, but if you look at the pics in the ad, it does show they are cloudy stones. I like vibrant, bright rhinestones or the stones look dirty in my dark colored hair. I still wanted to give these a try, but seeing in person I think the piece would be better with clear, bright stones. My stars are only 3 for these, but this company does have other clips that are highly rated and impressive.
