This is for you if you have a pet that poops on a carpet or rug. A 3-minute quick clean is all it takes (most of the time). For me, the 3-minute quick clean is perfect. If you use the deep cleaning mode, it may take out the color of the carpet/rug, or so I've been warned.

Where has this machine been for the past 1000 accidents? The ease of just filling it with water and solution, placing it over the spot, turning it on and watching the magic as my shoulders, neck and back are strain free is a heavenly wish come true. I have an elderly dog with Kushings who pees on the carpet multiple times a day. She goes out at least every two hours and wears diapers but it's still a never ending nightmare. All of the diapers I've tried either just slip off or leak. My golden retriever puppy is a very good girl but has had overnight emergency poop accidents, which happened the day after I received this machine. I'm so thankful that I purchased this since it's very badly needed in my house. I have the Bissell upright pet wet vacuum but it's so time consuming, lots of effort, and the cleanup of the machine afterwards is an entire production. The carpet also stays very wet for at least an entire day or more. This isn't due to lack of labor, since I vacuum the areas over and over until there isn't any liquid visibly suctioning through the intake. The cleaning solution for that machine has a very unpleasant, strong, lingering fragrance. I checked the area after cleaning with the SpotBot, and they were odor free, stain free and surprisingly not very damp. Of course I cleaned the poop by hand as much as possible first, scrubbing the residue off the carpet with spray cleaner and paper towels. The urine I dabbed up as much as I could with paper towels first. I didn't want that much residue on the scrubbing brushes of the machine so it will stay cleaner and be more effective for the next time. It's also convenient that you can leave any leftover cleaning solution in the machine for awhile so it's not wasted. Just be sure to dump the canister that has the dirty water immediately. The solution for this machine is not fragrant at all so it's much more pleasant than others I've used by Bissell. You will have to keep purchasing the Bissell solution that is made for this machine, since the manual states that you can't use any others, including anything with lemon, vinegar, pro cleaning solutions, etc., or it will damage the machine. So fair warning, you will not be able to save money by using a simple vinegar/water/soap mix. This machine is 100% better than the portable small Bissell spot cleaner that you have to manually swipe back and forth with using the hand tools and getting on the floor. I threw that machine out a long time ago since it wasn't that effective. It caused a mess since the tank holding the dirty water would leak out all over the floor from underneath. It was a hassle to use, unwieldly and clumsy, and left the carpet a soaking mess for at least a day no matter how many times you painfully swiped back and forth. ... show more

I tell everyone who has a pet to get this. My one cat has a sensitive stomach then you add in hairballs and it's cleanup time about once per week. Carpet cleaners like resolve would fully rinse off so carpet looked weird after drying. This you just push a button and walk away. Hand hose is great for cleaning up small spills on couch. One of my cats is on prescription food because she has stomach issues. When she hairballs or pukes on the carpet, it's dark orange because of the food. It used to be that my wife or I would have to use sprays like Resolv to clean it and it would take many applications to finally get the stain out of the light colored carpet the previous homeowners put in. With this, though, I pick up as much of the solids as I can with a paper towel, put the SpotBot down with it's scrubbing circle over the stain, press the deep clean button, and 5 minutes later it beeps, I lift it up, and 90% of the time the stain is completely gone. Occasionally it takes a second run to get it all, but even then it is much less aggravation than cleaning by hand. My wife was very skeptical about buying this, but after the first time we used it (and the cat "conveniently" puked while I was unpacking the spotbot) she was convinced and said we should have bought one years ago. I bought this to replace the first one we had bought in 2017- the hose cracked all the way around & not worth trying to replace the part so I bought a new one. We have 2 dogs & 2 kids so we get A LOT of use from this amazing little machine. I even bought one for our friends as a wedding gift as they also have 2 dogs.
