I went about a half size down, I normally wear 8 1/2 and went with eight on these, and they feel very comfortable! Still have room for thick socks, or normal socks.. They are easy to slip on and off, I love that they have a zipper. They keep my feet warm, and I will wear them all winter from the time the ground freezes! The boots ran true to size for me, size 6. I bought the gold and camo style. I thought they might be a bit too flashy for me, not my style but took a chance to be different. I love them and have received many compliments. They keep my feet warm and comfortable! I have worn these to outdoor sport activities in the early morning and later evening (7pm) to watch my children play. When the night games got super cold and windy, I realized these would not work with just regular socks. If you need warmth in your boots for the winter, this is not the boot. Warm enough for fall weather and maybe late November (east coast). Overall, the are functional, easy on and off (with zipper and without using it), comfortable, and provide some warmth but not for the winter with regular socks (maybe with thicker ones). These have held up through Fall and Winter, trudging through the rain, snow, slush and mud, and they look as new as the day I received them. I normally order a size 8 regular/medium women’s boot for a little more wiggle room, but a 7 1/2 Wide is plenty, even accommodating doubling up on socks. Fit: I typically wear a size 9 in most shoe brands and ordered a size 9 based on reviews I read. They do fit a little big, but that makes room for thicker socks without feeling crammed in the boot. I wouldn't have wanted a half or whole size smaller. The boots are comfortable. I've worn them several times and they have kept my feet dry and warm. The only complaint I have is the leather string on my boots are excessively long and any wear causes the laces to look sloppy. I'm sure I could cut them and re-tie them in the cute way they came, but I haven't tried. See picture for laces. My friend ordered the same boots and her laces are fine, so it could just be mine.
