If you are thinking of purchasing a pair of Sperry Top Siders, you should go right ahead. The only thing is deciding where to purchase the Sperrys from. I purchased a pair of Sperries in 2020 from Amazon. Those were excellent - and I still wear them today. I purchased my next pair of Sperries in 2021 from Zappos - those were not so great. The soles feel different on the ones purchased on Zappos. So I decided to buy my third pair from Amazon again. They are just as advertised. They have the classic soles and the classic fit of the Sperries that I know and love. For reference, these are actually my 10th pair dating back over 10 years. If you need sizing guidance, I would go true to size. Especially if you have wide feet. If you want to wear Sperries with socks, definitely go true to size. I'm not a style snob - I just love wearing Sperries, even in the winter. Or sometimes I am running a quick errand, and I can pop into my Sperries with the socks I already have on. Plus true to size is a much more comfortable, breathable fit than going a half size down like some people might suggest. For me, a Sperry Top Sider is the ultimate comfort shoe. More than a running shoe, more than birks, more than slippers, more than sandals. I love these shoes -- I've owned many pair over several decades. There is just one small problem: the leather laces they come with are always too short. Every time I buy a pair I have to take them to a shoe repair to have the laces replaced with longer laces. This is because I have to double-knot them so that the knot doesn't come undone, which it invariably does if I don't double-know them. ... show more

The shoes are on sale and are exactly what I wear throught-out the year. However, several 2023 reviews show, with pictures, the soles coming apart within a month, I carefully inspected them. They look perfect and feel comfortable. So I will wait. I have shoe glues to fix them if they do start showing signs of falling apart. Hopefully this is an isolated problem. First purchasing shoes like this but am happy with the purchase. They don't feel like any breaking in is necessary. Purchased my size 11.5 and they fit perfectly. The light brown one came with some scuff Mark's which gave them a rugged look that I love. Am somewhat disappointed with the lack of scuffing on the dark brown one which makes it looks very formal but I guess with time the will get the distressed look am looking for. After years of making fun of these shoes I finally accepted my fate as a 40 yr old and settled into a pair. Holy smokes they are comfy, haven't been on a boat to see if I slip off or not. Will edit review based on boat skills if that ever happens. Nice shoes though, looks good.

Great price so I ordered this extra pair. Yeah I know they don’t have white soles that’s one reason I got them. Another is the boat shoes are great on slippery services (they are boat shoes after all)

The soles are much thinner. I was looking for the thick-soled version and was disappointed, but decided to keep them anyway.

    • Topsides comfort and fit not dropping off

I have liked these shoes for years and just got a new pair. No drop off in comfort or quality and at a reasonable price. Love my 6 year old pair that will stay in FL and the new pair in NC.
