The 2" flare around the center of the tank seam might need some customizing to accommodate for shocks and exhaust. My old ink had rusted through due to sand accumulating between the tank and the plastic tank guard. I cleaned the bottom half of the tank with acetone and painted it with Flexseal.

    • When you drop the old tank, there will be a rubber mat on the front, (and rear) at the top!
Make sure you carefully remove both, clean them up, and using an adhesive from a caulk gun, replace them to the new tank. Without the rubber mat's the tank will not fit secure, and will rattle going down the road. V ery important. I also replaced all vent hoses, filler neck hose, and filler neck, and don't forget to replace fuel filter. I installed this on my 1997 Chevy Tahoe,with just shy of One Million miles. Now good to go.! ... show more
