I've been using Speck for a while now and I am generally never disappointed. I do admit it may be a bit frustrating that the Presido Grip from last year works on the iPhone 8 yet they're charging double the price for the new one. However, keep in mind that there does appear to be some changes and even an increase in overall quality. I'll try and do a quick break down of this for you. *Pros 1.) The grip is expanded even further on the back near the middle from last years. While not a big deal, it provides more areas of grip which is never a bad thing. 2.) The grip itself feels like it has a more tactile feel which I really like but it still offers the same grip as before. There is no better protection from drops than grip that helps prevent a drop. 3.) The cutouts look more fitting for an iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 because they're speaker cutouts. However, they're wide enough for headphones so if you have a 6/6s you won't be left out.. 4.) The rubber around the charging port seems to be more sturdy than before but only time will tell on this one. 5. No fingerprints are noticeable *Cons 1.) You can get the older model for half the price 2.) Quality control is a bit poor. I tested 5 cases at Best Buy and all but one of them felt loose on the bottom right side. The case wasn't at risk of coming off but it had a creak and popping like feeling. I didn't purchase the case that day and when I went back the 3 left all felt loose so I didn't buy one. The case I ordered from Amazon is extremely tight and fits as it should. I bring this up to inform you that if you get one that feels loose you should exchange it because that's not how it's supposed to feel. ... show more

This case is good looking, feels high quality, and gives you the protection and grip you are looking for without adding hardly any extra bulk. First it looks much better in person than in the photos. Second it feels like high quality material. It is the best grip on a smart phone case I have experienced. It is also a really tight fit (this is a good thing). Lastly it gives you enough protection on the edges and keeps your screen off surfaces that it will satisfy your need for a case. The amazing thing is it does this while adding minimal thickness to your phone. By comparison it is much thinner than the Otterbox commuter (if that is a fair comparison). I searched directly for a Speck case to protect my new iPhone XS because I've used Speck cases for phones and laptops, and I am never disappointed. I did do research online as to the pros and cons of the Presidio Grip vs. Candy Shell, and I ultimately chose the Presidio because of the enhanced drop protection. Admittedly, I liked the Candy Shell colors better, but the higher priority is case protectiveness. The grip is excellent. Only downside is that if you like to use a PopSocket, you need to place it all the way at the bottom of the case because the grip makes the surface not level enough to take the PopSocket adhesive effectively. It still works for me, but adjusted my grip to hold it between my pinky and ring finger rather than pointer and middle, which was my previous technique. Speck cases don't stretch out, they hold the phone securely, and the tiny lip allows you to place the phone face down with no worries of scratching. Also, it's compact enough to offer great protection without being bulky. I would absolutely continue to be loyal to Speck products. ... show more

Long-time speck candyshell user here. I didn't know that I could love Speck more until the Presidio cases! I've been using their cases since probably the iPhone 4. Can't recommend their brand enough. Their customer service is amazing and they stand behind the product. Pros: - High quality & durable cases (p.s. I drop alot) - I've NEVER had a busted iphone with these cases (again I drop alot) - LOVE the matte finish (holds up more over time) Cons: - The grips seem to wear off easily from alot of use but I still love having the grip. ... show more

If you have this and tempered glass on your phone, you will not have to worry about damaging your phone at all no matter how you drop it. I’ve had this case for over a year and here I am buying it again because yes it eventually does fall apart (the side grips, although some of it I picked at so not entirely the designs fault) but this WILL protect your phone. I’ve tried so many other cases with no grips or the lip on the front isn’t high enough and the phone slips out of my hand too easily or will get damaged/shatter if I drop it and it lands face down. However, this case is reliable. I’ve dropped my phone down face down so many times and never had any damage. I personally don’t think it’s too bulky. If you’re looking for something that is as thin as paper and doesn’t protect your phone, then this isn’t for you. But this is as thin as you’re gonna get if you want protection. ... show more

UPDATE!!!! Okay y’all I am so disappointed, I LOVED this color case (have always used speck) however ONE WEEK later and it was dirty ! Like wherever i sat it on (purse, counter, work etc) it turned nasty dirty . I cleaned it with Lysol wipes , alcohol and Acetone! No luck !!! Had to throw it away 😭😭😭😭 no matter how hard I tried to keep it off of things it was impossible. So needless to say it lasted a week ! So beware if you buy don’t expect a bright looking case for long . Let’s start off by saying I’M CLUMSY!! I have never owned anything but speck cases , for the sole purpose of the gummy designs on them ! Makes it supper anti slip . I have own every color known to iPhone and so far this is my fav the pink is more of a popin peach 🍑 color and the white is off white . You won’t regret it ! ... show more
