This is the second Speck Balance Folio I have purchased. It fits perfectly. It protects brilliantly. The closure clasp is a must for those who carry their iPad Mini without putting it in a backpack or some such thing. My only complaint is that it does not have a sleep-wake feature. I had originally used another case, but dropped the iPad on the pavement and the case popped open when hitting the ground. Not wanting for the same to happen a second time, I ordered the Speck and now make sure the clasp is fastened when taking the iPad to work. I'm using this with my Ipad Mini 6th Gen. This wasnt my first choice, but my wife has this case on her Ipad Air 5th Gen and she seemed to like it so I gave it a shot. I like the overall build of the case, it has space for your apple pencil if you have one and even a built in lock. Update March 13, 2024 Today the ipad case broke, just over 1 month from date of purchase. I do not recommend purchasing one of these... Original review at 3 ***: I’ve been buying iPad cases from Speck off and on for many years. This current case has a very cheap feel to it. It’s got a weird texture to the outside, and the interior design for standing up falls over a lot. And the iPad does not go to sleep when you close the cover. This brand used to be the best. I’m pretty picky on my cases for my electronics and I’ve tried many. When this one came up at a 62% discount, I jumped on it. It’s still available for under $20. PROS - the iPad Mini 7 snaps into the case holder securely. - The case has a latch that holds the case closed and traps the pencil along the top of the ipad for storage - the material of the case is a hard fabric not having a plastic feel. - there are multiple angles at which the iPad can be set for viewing, including writing - there is a flap that can be opened and laid back to expose :-) the camera for taking photos (who does that?) - volume and on/off buttons are exposed so that the case does not interfere - The exterior of the case is easy to clean and doesn’t show finger marks like Apple’s folio CONS - no automatic sleep feature when the lid is closed, don’t believe those that report it does ... show more
