The high waist was much too high for me. In order to pull it up all the way so the material is smooth, it went past the top of my stomach/ribs area. It would have to roll at the top or bunch in the middle. It also was not smooth on my bottom where the edges sat, so any tight fitting clothing would show panty lines. I’m an average 40 year old woman who has had a few kids, so I do carry a slight pooch in the front. I call it my food baby because it grows with every meal. I’m not overweight in the least. I had never bought Spanx, but it was a brand I knew of from friends. I bought these to wear under a cocktail dress so my tummy would be a little flatter. I’ve always heard good things about Spanx, so I had high hopes. They didn’t work as well as I hoped. For the price I paid, I expected better tummy control. I am 5'4", 185 lbs., 44" bust, 37" waist, 44" hips, a 36H, and usually opt for an L in shapewear. I got an XL and L in these in the cafe au lait color, and it fit great everywhere for the most part. The XL was the better size. The color was great for the semi-tan white skin I have; most colors are so pale that they show through which these didn't. My only issues were that it is a little long for my torso (came right up to the base of my boobs) which caused it to roll down, and it almost felt like tearing when pulling them up and down. The nice thing is that the torso being too long was basically remedied by adjusting it to not be pulled up as high, and this didn't cause it to wrinkle at all. Highly recommend!! ... show more
