    • Definitely worth buying if working with armored cable
Needed to install some metal clad cable for an electrical project. Saw many videos online of electricians using wire cutters and tin snips to cut the flex cable, but this works way faster and you don't run the risk of cutting into the wires. Definitely worth the money. Cutter doesn't come with instructions though, which I think is a glaring omission. It's not overly hard to figure out how to use it if you're mechanically inclined, but still. Do keep in mind that you'll still need tin snips to remove the sharp corner of the cut cable and some "red devil" wire protectors to prevent wire chafing. ... show more

My kids bought an older home and needed help with some rehab. The house had some Romex and some Bx wire, I was struggling with the Bx until I bought this cutter. It works great and is very easy to use.

    • Fell apart before first use
Many of the reviews here are inexplicably for the wrong product (really, Amazon?). This review is for the Southwire 58282240 MCCUT BX/MC Rotary Cable Cutter with Lever. The very first time I took this out of my toolbox to use it the wee nut that holds the handle on and grips the blade had some off and disappeared. As the return window has passed, I am now the proud owner of a $35 paper weight. If the manufacturer would like to reach out and send me a replacement nut, I'll be happy to change this review. ... show more
