Cuts 12/2 & 14/2 MC cable super clean. Working on a commercial electrical job now and have used it extensively. I plan to keep this tool for commercial jobs even though I do mostly residential electrical work where Romex is king.

Not sure what to say, but if you are running armored cable you are definitely going to need one of these to cut the armor without cutting the cable inside. This one works.....

    • Definitely worth buying if working with armored cable
Needed to install some metal clad cable for an electrical project. Saw many videos online of electricians using wire cutters and tin snips to cut the flex cable, but this works way faster and you don't run the risk of cutting into the wires. Definitely worth the money. Cutter doesn't come with instructions though, which I think is a glaring omission. It's not overly hard to figure out how to use it if you're mechanically inclined, but still. Do keep in mind that you'll still need tin snips to remove the sharp corner of the cut cable and some "red devil" wire protectors to prevent wire chafing. ... show more

    • The Only Way to Cut MC Cable
This tool feels solid and is dead simple to use. It clamps onto the armor securely, and a few turns of the crank scores a perfect line without ever touching the wires inside. The sheathing just twists right off, making a clean, safe cut every single time.
