They look good and feel great, the downside is that the heel block height is just a little to high which puts my pressure of the toes instead of a balanced walk load. I will need to have the heel block lowered to make the boots feel better.

I like the styling a bunch. I picked these up for work boots and they fit the bill where my Double H brown boots did not. The only thing I've noticed is that they seem to be narrow for my foot. Without having a size indicator such as D, E, EE, etc, in the ordering process, I went with my regular size. I believe that the only recourse I have is to pick a day when I can plan on walking a bunch, then put the boots on, immerse my boots and feet into warm water until they are saturated, then walk them into shape. I'm a leather worker and this process allows the leather to stretch to fit the size and shape of what is pressing on it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this works because I really like the boots. NOTE: The wetting of the leather and wearing them will likely cause your socks to stain with the color of the boot, but if it works like I expect, the fit of the boot will be like a custom fit for your (my) feet. ... show more

As stated above, this boot is for men with wide feet.as I have bought boots at two different big box stores (farm and fleets),I'm used to wearing bigger boots as I wear a size 8 and the box stores only carry 8 1/2 and up. I always have to wear thick boot socks with them. Now on to these boots, they are well built (should get quite a few years out of them),and they are very comfortable right out of the box. Received on Thursday ( on time) and wore them all day Saturday and came home and bought another pair in a different style. Treat yourself with an old school built boot that won't break the bank. P.S. I purchased these boots for light casual wear. The boots I received look exactly like they were pictured. IMO they are very attractive and are made of somewhat above average materials. However they are about a half size too big and the inside seams are very rough and poorly finished. The net result being a boot that is uncomfortable, not suitable for all day wear and must be worn with a heavy sock if they are to be worn at all. I know that I can return them but I'm not. I will take them to my local shoe and boot repair and see if he can jack around with them to make them wearable. If that doesn't work they will be donated to charity. Very, very disappointing purchase because they are so attractive yet so poorly manufactured. I will stay with Dan Post and Hondo. Save yourself grief and money and purchase a different brand. ... show more

Soto boots are nice in an old school way. Leather soles, nails, you can see that human beings made these boots. They look nice but have some flaws. The interior leather lining has some rough edges inside that scratched my leg even with my knee length boot socks on. I needed to take an Emory board and file the offending seam down to make them wearable. Very little break in time and they fit nicely. The leather isn’t the most beautiful but acceptable and the edges scuffed easily after the first wearing but can be fixed up with black edging dressing. Since I have also recently purchased Abilene made in the USA boots which are far superior in comfort and looks, I don’t know how often I will be wearing these. It’s worth a few more $ to buy the USA made Abilene boots. ... show more
