I have been searching for a pair of boots that work with every single outfit in my wardrobe without any effort and these SOREL Roam'n Chelsea boots are genuinely it. The moment I put them on I felt instantly elevated, a little posh, a little 90s, and significantly taller which as a 5'2" woman is always a welcome bonus even from a flat boot. I wore them for hours on my first outing without any soreness or breaking in period which for a leather boot is really remarkable and tells you everything you need to know about the quality of the construction. The leather is so soft and supple right out of the box but still has that sturdy substantial feel that makes you believe these could genuinely handle a hike while still looking stylish enough for a nice dinner or a little black dress moment afterward. That combination of rugged construction and sleek chelsea boot aesthetic is exactly what SOREL does so well and this pair delivers it completely. The black and gum sole colorway is such a classic pairing that works across seasons and styles without ever looking dated or overdone. I sized up half a size to leave room for thicker winter socks and in hindsight I am not sure I needed to because in stockings they run just a touch loose, still comfortable and honestly still really cute in that slightly oversized way that feels very intentional and fashion forward. With a thicker sock though they fit really nicely so it will depend entirely on how you plan to wear them most. From city days to casual outings to dressier occasions these boots have already proven themselves across multiple outfits and I reach for them more than anything else in my closet right now. SOREL has been doing this since 1962 and you can feel that legacy in every single detail.

I love having boots with that extra something that makes them stand out. I wasn't sure about these boots because i was worried they would look clunky. They don't. In fact, I was so surprised when I put them on and they not only looked fashionable but were cushioned and comfortable. The leather looks great and the contrasting heel elevate the look even more. With the block heel and the platform in the front of the shoe, I felt tall and stylish. I don't know about the water resistance because I did not get them wet and it hasn't rained here in a long time. They do look sturdy, durable and beautiful. They have non-slip soles which I always appreciate. They were also easy to take on and off. I ordered a size 8 which is my usual size, they were true to size and felt fitted but not tight or uncomfortable. Did I mention, they are comfortable? I will not hesitate to wear them to work for a full shift on my feet. I tried them on with some pinstripe wide legs pant and they looked fabulous. I will be wearing with a variety of outfits and I am sure they will look great with all of them. This shoe is incredibly versatile and can easily be worn with dressier outfits as well as more casual outfits, including shorts and t-shirts. The price might seem a little steep but I think it is worth it and I expect to have these shoes for a long time! Great choice for me!

First impressions, taking these out of the box and trying to cram my feet into them… They are like Barbie shoes! Extremely narrow and form fitting, very hard to get on, and incredibly uncomfortable. They look kind of fun in a spunky alternative, but not goth sort of way. The width of the toe box is adequate in my opinion, however, there’s an extreme amount of pressure pushing down on the top of the foot. That could be because I have fat feet… Or it could be the design of the shoes The heel inside the shoe is very odd. It looks as if it’s curved to shape the natural heel flow, but yet it’s not quite tall enough so it rubs and scratches with every step. Almost as if Maybe they are too small, but yet my toes still have room so maybe it’s just the proportion of the shoe? Or my foot? Where the pressure coming from the top of the foot is so extreme that the foot can’t slide forward enough in order to make room for the hill of the arch? If that makes any kind of sense. The ankle is very very narrow. I absolutely love the look of that as I have slim ankles, and I hate wearing boots that stick out everywhere. However, that also means they are very narrow for stuffing your fat foot through, and that relies extensively on the stretchability of the side panels. Lol. That also leads me to believe that the side panels sleek smooth look might not last very long as it’s going to get stretched out of shape pretty quick from putting these on and off. The chunky rubber everywhere is super fun. However, it’s also exceptionally squeaky on the hardwood floor lol. I like that the heel looks like wood however it’s definitely more like a plastic. But it is a fun funky touch. And of course, these have the classic Sorell rubber portions that come up and over the heel so that way you don’t wear your heels out too swiftly. Aside from the Pinchy heel situation that rubs in a very uncomfortable way, these are very easy to walk in. They have a nice squish under the tote box. They have a nice stride feel where it doesn’t feel like you’re clomping around too terribly like some other brands. I just wish the heel didn’t feel like it was an awkward shelf stabbing into the back. It could be one of those things that just takes a little while to break in… I’m being hopeful. Some of my best most favorite shoes were awful at the beginning, but broke it to be splendiferous. These boots also state that they are waterproof, so that’s kind of awesome to have a big chunky healed shoe that’s still semi chic, semi all-terrain, sort of All weather function. Btw, the leather creases immediately, which makes them have a worn look. Which means there’s no gifting these to a friend and looking new, because they already look worn out just for me pacing around the house writing this review lol. Because they are so incredibly tight, they are incredibly hard to get off! I worry I’m going to snap the heel portion right off while trying to pull off the boot. This is more like a two person job. Overall, there’s a lot of things I’m questionable about, but I still like them enough and trust the brand enough that I’m going to keep them and see how well they wear through this season. I have a feeling they’ll be much more cozy once broken in a bit. Just like my other tried and true Sorrell Winter boots.

Wow wow WOW… these boots are INCREDIBLE. They have that classic Chelsea boot shape, but the chunky platform and gorgeous wood-look block heel make them feel so much more elevated and stylish than a basic pair. The interior is unbelievably comfortable and supportive, which honestly surprised me given how structured the boot looks. They feel sturdy without being stiff, and I can comfortably walk around in them without immediately regretting my shoe choice lol. The elastic side panels also make them easy to slip on while still keeping the ankle secure. The heel detail is absolutely gorgeous and adds such a luxe contrast against the black leather. I also love the substantial sole because it gives a little extra height and makes the boots feel perfect for wet, chilly fall and winter days. These are going to look amazing with jeans, leggings, long skirts, sweater dresses, and basically every fall outfit imaginable. They’re absolutely going to be my boots of the fall—and obviously winter too. Stylish, comfortable, sturdy, and worth every penny.

These Sorel Chelsea boots are absolutely gorgeous. They are definitely on the expensive side, but the quality is obvious. The materials feel luxurious, the construction is excellent, and they have that well-crafted look that makes them stand out from your run-of-the-mill Chelsea boot. The block heel gives a nice amount of height while still feeling sturdy and wearable. I also really appreciate the grip on both the heel and the sole, which makes them feel more practical than your average cute boot. I wore them in the rain and remained nice and dry. Pretty and functional, that almost never happens lol. They are also super versatile. You can dress them up with a nicer outfit or wear them more casually with jeans, and they still look polished. Overall, these are beautifully made, comfortable, stylish Chelsea boots that feel worth the investment. Love Sorel and definitely recommend these boots!

Pleasantly surprised at these boots. I sized up 1/2 size since I have a naturally wider toe area. If I add a heal grip on the inside, they will fit perfectly with zero pinching of my feet--a very rare happening in today's pointy-toes shoes. I love that my toes have wiggle room and are not at all constricted. The silhouette of these boots elongates the leg and provides for some extra height to help those too-long pants and skirts fit better. They style is both sleek and chunky at the same time, and they have just the right amount of edginess that I like in shoes. If these go the distance, I plan to order in a neutral tan type color. The quality is excellent with real leather, and the value is good. As an added feature, the soles are non-slip, so they should do well in icy conditions.
