When I saw all the butt connectors with waterproof shrink tube built on, I knew this was a deal. I mean, how much do we pay for a package of 5 of these things at the local auto parts store, and here's a box load of them for not much more than a couple of those packages. Throw in a crimping tool and you have me sold. But wait, this is actually a pretty well built tool with leveraged jaws and a ratcheting mechanism that looks a lot like some of the other high end crimping tools in my chest. Oddly, I didn't have one for solderless connects... BUT I DO NOW! These are NOT the el cheapo kit based crimpers that come with the kit at the local auto store. You know the ones I'm talking about... yeah those. This pair has a bit of heft, has a nice set of grips that don't spin when you go all Popeye on em, and most importantly- they work just fine with those other solderless connectors you still have left over from your last project. What a great surprise. I posted a picture of what came in the box, a nice close up of the jaws of the crimping tool, and a couple of crimps that I shrank with a lighter, because that's how I did it for years and I wanted to make sure all those 18 year old's who don't have fancy heat guns could get it done. Okay, I admit it, sometimes I'm under the dash of my Jeep and I bust out the lighter for heat-shrink because I'm too lazy to go get the right tool. Was not expecting this level of quality in this tool. I am very very happy with this excellent crimping tool and heat shrink connectors. It has my full recommendations. This tool is very well built, strong, sturdy, and surprisingly easy to use. It has smooth action, and is able to crimp the enclosed connectors with ease. Since heat shrink connectors are universal, and this tool has multiple different grove selections on its jaws, this can be used with whatever connectors you have on hand. The hand grips are well constructed and feel comfortable and non-slip in the hand. There is a sturdy weight to this tool - it is not some disposable device, but rather one that will become part of your permanent tool collection. It crimps the connectors with ease, preparing them for a blast from a heat device to seal them permanently from all external issues. There are multiple different sizes, so it is easy to choose the one that fits the wire gauge that is being used. Ok, I have been rewiring a trailer with number 10, 12, and 14 ga wire and I wanted a set of connectors that were better than just the crimp. Something that might give the connectors a longer life in the battery box and other connection boxes.. So, when this product became available, I decided to give it a try. The set comes with a nice organized box of connectors that are color coded for wire range and a separate crisper. If you have a small tool box, I would recommend using that to put these into so they do not get crossed with any other type of chimp tool or fittings you might have. The heat shrink pulls up nicely and makes for a moisture resistant connection and also adds some mechanical strength. The crimp itself does a nice job and the connection is tight as long as you used the correct gauge wire. I am happy with the product and I would recommend it. ... show more

This crimping tool rocks. I've had a ratcheting crimper before and it makes a world of difference. I tested it out with a few of the included connectors and it was a breeze. The tools feels like it has some weight, the handle is good and the pressure is awesome. For that, it's total 5 stars. The included connectors are nice but the amount of metal inside the plastic is very short to insert the wires, I would have liked a bit more for errors, longer wires and more room to clamp down. The heat shrink works as expected. Not that these don't work, just a bit more... For this price, the crimping tool is worth it 100%, so I figure the connectors are a bonus and will certainly work. ... show more

Great combination of connectors, rings and forks. The heat shrink skirt works great without a ton of applied heat and the hot glue flows evenly and doesn't easily burn. The forks however are not "Marine Grade" and will not pass inspection if your Vessel has fire insurance from an American insurer. The crimping tool is very good quality with smooth ratcheting and a functional release lever. This is an electrician's crimping tool and will only function properly if you know the proper AWG of the wire. You just can't match up the connector colors with the jaw colors, your wire must be properly matched to the connectors I.D. Your wire should fit snugly in the connectors hole or at least fill up 80% of the hole for a proper crimp. ... show more

This was a multipack box that came with the tool and the connectors. Crimping tool packaging was damaged but the tool itself was fine and not affected. A little stiff to squeeze when compared to my other tools but it did its job with no problems. The connectors were good quality. The cimping tool teeth are able to do one half at a time so depending on how you like to do things, this will be a 2-3 crimps to make the connections. Make sure the wires are in there otherwise they may slip out, I made that mistake. But if you hold it in and heat the shrink wrap, the glue is strong enough to hold it there and seals well. Great to have ready especially anywhere where moisture will be an issue like a car. ... show more
