I initially got this as a gift for my young nephew thinking this would be a good gift. (The genius that I am, I did not ask what would be best for him, I just bought it thinking it would be a good gift). His parents did not want him to play any more video games, which I respect, so when I found this out I had to return it. However, I tested to confirm the system worked. 1) The system was shipped on time. 2) It came very clean and it worked well. 3) The seller was very understanding of the return and took it back. (this all happened within a couple of days. I thought they earned a good review but more importantly, I ordered a PS3 from another Amazon supplier, and it was dirty and did not work! So I was happy they did a good job and thought I should let others know. REFUND: I received my refund from this company within a couple of days. The other PS3 company (system did not work), It has been several weeks and I still have not received my refund. Totally different quality and service.

This item was supposedly renewed to Amazon standards. It was completely thrashed. However that's not why I returned it. I could work with cosmetic damage. This item was supposed to be a 1st generation 80G console. It was not. They either sent me a 2nd generation 80G system or threw an 80G hard drive in a 60G machine. The first clue was that the plastic cover for the hard drive was loose in the box. The second clue was the hard drive orientation. If it slides straight in and out it's a later model. The 1st Gen is inserted sideways and then slid to the left to lock it in place. The third clue and deal breaker is the fact that it won't play PS2 games. Only the 1st generation 80G machine has the hardware necessary to play PS2 games. Switching hard drives does not change it's backward compatibility. Yes,I know I can just buy a PS2 but I would still need to replace my PS3 because I still play games from both systems. Or I did until a lightning strike took out my 1st Gen 80G PS3.

Everything worked but the controller. Not sure if it’s the controller or the charging cable. Luckily ps4 controller works if plugged into the system. Other than that satisfied with the system and the time frame it came.

It works fine if you get ps3 make sure that you don't get the wrong one because that what happened to me I got the wrong one if I could play my ps2 games on the ps3 but all I got is Blu-ray and it plays ps3 games that's all on 60gb

Do not waste your money! I was pleasantly surprised to see I got a ps3 controller & an hdmi cable in the box along with the old school red yellow & white plug. Figured I’d hook it up with the hdmi but it won’t wirk. After hours of internet searches I manage to get it working using the old low quality component plug. Nothing I do will get the hdmi cable to work (even Sony’s guide on manually changing the output) my guess is they sent me a console with a faulty hdmi port. I wouldn’t be bothered but when using the component hook up, the display is 3 inches shorter than my tv on both sides leaving black spaces which is distracting and unpleasant. Knowing any of this beforehand I would have spent a little extra to go to GameStop. Don’t waste your time. Update; after approx 2 hours of playing, the console turned off and wouldn’t respond to any attempts at waking it up. Total brick. Plus I got to pay 30$ to send the piece of garbage back. Don’t waste your time or money! Update: the seller had offered a refund on the shipping Update: I did as asked and sent the seller a copy of my receipt for shipping. No refund. A week ago I emailed asking about the refund, so far no reply. I’ve sent a second email.

My son (16) loves his ps3! We had one previously but when it died we tried Xbox. That was not the system for him. He has been asking for a new PS3 for a few of years now and kept all of his old games and controllers. This refurbished one works like new! I’m so happy I got him this. Love that it came with a controller! Thanks so much!

It came with a dead blue ray system and it took my game and I never saw it again. And even though Amazon said it was excellently refurbished it came super dirty with dust in the ports and I had to use my airgun to clean it

The product arrived 2 days before ETA, it did arrive with some dust on the console, but I did not buy this for any aesthetic purpose, I bought it for the memories, and so far after intitial setup, the console, as far as I can tell, performs flawlessly, came with all necessary components to be plug and play…I’m thoroughly satisfied with this purchase…
