PS3 arrived promptly with all promised parts, but software was still set up with previous owner's information and was only semi-functional (would freeze randomly, usually after about 8 minutes of use). I was finally able to get the system working properly again after several hours of doing a complete factory reset (the reset itself took that long...I'm not including the time wasted trying other "quicker" fixes). This ended up being doubly frustrating because the console froze the first time I attempted the reset, but finally went through on my second attempt. I would have much preferred that this had been done before I received the unit. Since then, everything seems to be running okay. I do live in a bit of fear that whatever caused the original problems with the previous owner's software will rear its head again, but so far (fingers crossed) this has not been in evidence.

Now admittedly, I was a little over-anxious to get a PlayStation 3. I wanted this model quite badly, but I didn't look into it much. Once I got it I turned it on and it smelled quite like smoke. I had to look into the issue to find out that there might be lots of dust there (the fan was reaching its third fan speed in five minutes regardless of what was going on). I purchased some thermal paste afterwards and took it apart to reapply it. It works better but I had to make another purchase without looking into it more. All I have to say is that people should ask the exact condition of their purchases from the seller. I will remember this forever.

The system itself works fine and plays PS2 & PS3 games for now. Bought this as a Christmas present. Only came with a cord for a controller. No controller, no HDMI cord nothing! Then called amazon about it because I got it from the amazon warehouse and they said there's nothing we can do about it! I called again and got a different agent who was then able to help me, I still won't get my missing items but I will get a partial refund. Buy 3rd party, then you will at least be able to get all the stuff.

I got lucky and got this through Amazon warehouse deals! System works great and its completely backwards compatible! I had a PS3 launch console back when they first came out and then it finally died on me. It feels good to have one again. I'm going to take this one to my local game repair shop and have them clean it up and put new thermal paste on the processors so this one will last forever. Thanks amazon.

He sells a lot of these and I think that means he's pretty good at fixing them up. Mine is wonderful and I am madly in love with it. I use it basically just for playing PS2 games but boy is it ever a dream machine and well worth what I paid for it, I just can't describe how much pleasure and even joy it brings me. Simply put, it makes some games that were "bad" on the PS2 into "good" and makes the good ones great and as for the great ones, it puts them into the stratosphere. It opens up a whole new world otherwise unreachable in gaming.

I personally loved the ps3 that I bought from Amazon. I like that they had all the wires, the remote to go with the system. The least favorite thing about it is it has a little crack on the system but other then that I liked my perches and that's all that matters hopping to buy things on Amazon again

Everything is as great as the one I had that broke, except, the controller that came with this new PS3 won't charge. You can't use the controller unless it's plugged into the PS3. Fortunately, I have the one I had with my previous PS3.

just received my ps3 today and am happy with the purchase. the console has everything that i need, dvd/blu-ray player, wireless internet and with the 60 gig version i get backwards compatibility letting me play ps1 and ps2 games. I've done lots of research before buying a system and decided that the 60 gig meets my needs. i don't play lots of video games, but i like to watch movies. I'm a netflix member and it was easy to set up netflix streaming on my ps3. the movies and games on the ps3 are crystal clear even though i don't have a high def tv. if your on the market for a game console, go with the ps3 60 gig. it's worth the money and is a ton better than the new ps3 slim, which is NOT backwards compatible.
