I’m an American, so “cricket shoes” got off to a strange start with me. For about four seconds, I pictured shoes made for stomping actual crickets, which seemed unnecessary, cruel, and honestly like a lot of specialized equipment for a bug problem. Then my British friends explained cricket again, with the tired dignity of people who have already had to explain tea, monarchy, and why one match can last five days. Five days. At that point, I figured cricket shoes must know something my regular shoes do not. Any shoe built for a sport where people stand, sprint, stop, twist, wait, lunge, and apparently age several calendar days before the game is over might have something useful to offer. I spend a lot of days standing for 4 to 8 hours at a stretch, so comfort is not really optional. It is closer to a religion. And because I have plantar fasciitis, my feet can turn a long day into something akin to medieval torture: time on The Rack, a session with Thumbscrews, or being drawn and quartered... slowly. Then I opened the box. “Lime Navy” is a polite little name for what came out. These are blazing fluorescent lime green with blue highlights, the kind of green so bright and saturated it feels less like a color and more like something from the netherworld that you accidentally released after ignoring ominous warnings, hearing dark voices moaning and waling in your head, and that weird soothsayer telling you to "BEWARE! BE WARE!!!" With some trepidation, I opened the box and had a brief Raiders of the Lost Ark moment, like I had cracked open something sealed for 3,000 years and the light of Jehovah was about to pour across my living room. I half expected wind to blast through the curtains, the walls to hum, and some poor villain’s face to melt while I stood there holding a pair of cricket shoes. No curses. No screaming spirits. No face-melting. Just shoes. Once my eyes adjusted, the practical side of them started to show. I followed the sizing instructions instead of gambling, and the fit came out right. The laces let me shape the shoe around my foot, then the wide Velcro strap locks the top down in a way that feels secure without crushing anything. The laces do more than just tighten the shoe. They help form the upper form snugly, comfortably around my foot, so the fit feels shaped instead of merely squeezed. Then the strap holds that shape in place across the top, adding a firmer brace without making the shoe feel stiff or overbuilt. It is a smart combination: laces for shaping, strap for structure, padding for comfort, and grip underneath to keep the whole thing grounded. That is where the S70 started to feel well engineered rather than merely flashy. The gel insole and padding are where these really won me over. I do not play cricket. I am not bowling, batting, diving across grass, or defending the honor of the Commonwealth. I am walking around, running errands, standing too long, and trying to keep my heels from ruining the rest of my body’s plans. For that, these have been genuinely good. They are easy to wear, easy to walk in, and comfortable enough that I have had no problem using them as everyday sports-style shoes. I have worn them while doing normal activities, moving around the house, going in and out, and spending time on my feet, and I really do not have anything negative to report. No awkward rubbing, no strange pressure point, no “why did I put these on?” moment halfway through the day. I love them. They get noticed and complimented, they are comfortable as well as secure, definitely supportive, and a much better match for me than I expected. The crickets are safe, my feet are happier, and when I am shopping once again for a pair of new tennies or kickers, I'll absolutely be checking in with this seller and the brand. These are not shoes that you’ll one day retire back to a box in some secret government warehouse and supernatural holding facility. No, these are keepers and a great treasure from THE WELL OF SOLES.

I love the look and feel of these Solm8 cricket shoes and appreciate the traction these cleats provide in the grass and in the dirt. The quality of the material and design give these shoes an expensive look all while providing a snug and secure fit. They track well on the field and are comfortable enough for every day wear. I've wore these a couple times so far for flag football, baseball, and a couple other field sports and appreciate the performance as I've had other cleats that I never really liked. Overall, these are sharp and well made shoes that stand out just as well as they perform.

Most cricket shoes are built with batters in mind first and everyone else second. The S70 is clearly designed with bowlers as the starting point, and you can feel the difference in a few key areas. The cleat setup: The oval cleat geometry is built to increase ground contact and forward traction (Amazon) , which matters a lot during a run-up. You're not just looking for grip in all directions, you want that forward drive to feel planted and consistent, and these deliver on that. Works well on both turf and natural grass without feeling awkward on either. Comfort over a full day: The gel insole is genuinely shock-absorbing and designed to reduce leg fatigue across long matches. (Amazon) Fast bowlers are on their feet all day even when they're not bowling, and the padded upper with ankle collar keeps things comfortable without creating pressure points. The air-vent design also helps with airflow, which makes a real difference during longer sessions. The strap: The SecureFit strap keeps the shoe locked during bowling and field play (Amazon) without needing to over-tighten the laces. It's a small thing until the third time your foot shifts mid-delivery, at which point it becomes a very big thing. Toe guard: The reinforced toe guard is worth mentioning specifically for pace bowlers. That front foot drag on delivery is brutal on footwear and most shoes show wear there first. Having actual reinforcement built in extends the life of the shoe meaningfully. A few caveats: Weight comes in at 430 grams (SOLM8) , which is on the moderate side. Not heavy, but if you're used to ultralight options you'll notice it. Also worth checking the size guide carefully before ordering. 🏏 Sturdy, Supportive & Easy to Spot 👟✨ Tom has spent several days wearing these, and he genuinely likes them. The first thing he noticed is how sturdy and substantial they feel—these are not soft, mushy shoes. They have a solid, supportive feel on your feet, which gives you confidence when you’re moving around. He wore them with socks and still had enough room to comfortably move his toes, which is always a good sign for fit. He even took them for a run one day, and they did great. We also went for a walk together, and he was just as pleased. He even played a little tennis in them, and they handled quick direction changes easily without feeling unstable. The grip on the sole (you can see it clearly in my photo) gives really good traction, and the shoe feels secure without being stiff. The Velcro strap is a nice added touch—it helps lock your foot in place without fussing with laces once you’ve got them set. They also seem to be made from a durable material that can handle regular wear, and his feet didn’t feel hot even after having them on most of the day. And fair warning—Tom says the color is so bright, it sees you coming in the middle of the night! 😄 It’s easy to wear and feels straightforward right from the start.
