Full disclosure: I am absolutely not of Indian/South Asian descent or relation. I just thought this looked like an ideal piece for another outfit I have. Really digging it. It's quite warm despite its sheerness, and the designs in the fabric are nice. PROBABLY could have gone XXL in size, but I am good with the fit of an XL (175cm tall, 90kg weight). ... show more

I have always admired kurtas as garments but had never worn one before so I was excited about ordering this one. When it arrived I was impressed, the fabric is lovely with a gorgeous, understated design and the buttons are also quite striking. It is much lighter weight than I expected but this isn't surprising since it is a warm weather garment. I ordered it in black in the largest size available which is also my size, an XXL. I have found that when I obtain garments made in China or in this case India that if I can order a size larger than what I usually wear it is often a better fitting garment and thus a smart decision. If this had been available in a size up, an XXXL, that would have been good because when I tried to slip this garment on it was too tight around my broad shoulders-I could not wear it comfortably. I also found the fabric to be somewhat itchy to my skin, perhaps after laundering it a number of times it would soften up and feel better to me? I'm not sure. I won't be able to wear it because it's too small for me and I cannot move up to any larger sizes. That is a letdown, I was really looking forward to wearing this gorgeous item. Oh well, I tried. Be advised, definitely order these at least a size larger than you usually wear. ... show more
