These are pretty decent kids shin guards. I got the medium which fits my 8yo son perfectly. They are a little big on my 6yo daughter but will work for her also. The shin guards are a nice smooth plastic with foam padding on the inside. There is one elastic strap with velcro that holds them in place on the leg. The socks are noted in the description as cotton but I'm not sure that is true. They are a very stiff almost slippery material and feel more like polyester. They are also tall and tight - they come above my 6yo's knee. The socks are "meh" minus one star for them. If you wear the shin guard on the outside of the sock, the single elastic strap may not be sufficient to hold the guard in place. My kids prefer to wear the guard on the inside of the sock so the sock helps to hold the guard in place. That means that the foam on the guard gets sweaty and needs to be cleaned with water. At about $16 for the set of 2 this is a good deal for kids shin guards. I would recommend. ... show more

Update: shin guards cracked after one practice. Do not recommend shin guards. Socks have been fine. For the price, this is a decent set. The socks are what you would expect from soccer socks and are fine. The shinguards do seem on the thin side, and could even be bent in half almost. There is a thin layer of plastic and a thin layer of foam. But they do have a strap for around the calf, so they will serve their purpose. Again, for the price they will work! ... show more

I ordered a size medium for my 6 and 9 yr old based on the ad showing a medium recommended for sizes 3'11"-4'7"tall 6-10 yrs. But when I got the actual product, the shin guards show size medium being recommended for 14-17yr olds 5’3” - 5’9”. Clearly way off the original ad. The socks are huge on my 9yr old and absolutely no way it’ll fit on my 6yr old. The product itself is okay, but almost useless for us considering it’s not as advertised size wise, and way too big. The shin guard is on the thinner side for plastic and foam, but should be sufficient for a child. ... show more

I got the medium for my boys - these are their first shin guards that don’t have the ankle stirrup. They like them since they don’t have to take off their socks to put these on. They have a single velcro strap across the widest part of the calf. I may reinforce if the velcro starts wearing off - but these have worked for soccer practice all week and one Saturday game. ... show more

The pads are really nice and fit my 8 year old perfecftly. There is a single elastic strap on the back -- perhaps it could be two -- but otherwise, these are great. She wore them for several hours without any major issues or discomfort. After that much time, she did want to take the pads off -- but that's pretty normal. The socks are very stiff the first time you put them on. Washing seems to help this... I'm sure extended use will also help. Overall, they'll be good for soccer season. :) ... show more
