  • Absolutely GREAT knife for the price! Absolutely GREAT knife for the price!
Style: Box
Okay so I've had this blade for about 3+ years now. I bought it somewhere else but I found it here new so I thought it appropriate to give my thoughts on it after some wearing on it and experience. Right now this knife is discounted and available for 12.99 which is GREAT! For the price you're getting a Smith and Wesson quality bang for your buck so you don't have to commit 300.00 for the just about the same quality youd get somewhere else. So that alone should entice you to give it a shot. As far personal wear and tear... It still holds strong after years of pretty much daily use. I've used this for everything because I don't believe in safety blades lol Now it's got some scuffing, it's got a tiny chip (please refer to the images above) but honestly I've gone out of my way to attempt to puncture everything from aluminum, and even sheet metal to see how it holds up and I gotta say... With the right angle and technique and the right amount of force, you could punch right through bare metal and the blade will hold up. It's still sharp and strong. I've sharpened this blade on my own to low effect, unfortunately this blade requires the hands of a professional and someone who knows what they're doing to keep the point and sharpness on this blade. So I don't recommend sharpening this on your own without the right equipment. The point or tip of the blade is decent. Only slightly worn down since purchase so I wouldn't worry to much about dulling it from regular use. I have a bad habit of playing with my personal blades so truth be told, I've probably gummed up the folding and unfolding hinge a bit. Its not as smooth as it was before but I think if you lube it up with some degreaser it'll be like new. I don't think the mechanism can be worned down until it doesn't lock anymore. I've probably opened and closed this blade well over 3000 times now and it still locks perfectly, just difficult to open with the flare and swish of the hand which is what I do to open it. The handle is still in great shape as it's made to last. It's held its shape and has ZERO damage. It forms to my hand perfectly and the ergonomic shape fits exactly to my hand. Though I have somewhat of "musicians hands" my hand shape is defined so it might be cumbersome or uncomfortable for older gentleman with stronger and thicker labor man's hands. Besides everything, this is a more than decent blade that'll last you a good 5+ years at LEAST and won't break the wallet. The blade shape is awesome as well with a clip shape so that's a plus, great for penetration and slashing all the same. I've taken this blade just about everywhere and it's held up this long. I've lost it frozen in the snow, taken it underwater, left it in the hot sun, dropped it from a 4 story building etc and everything and it's still my daily routine to clip it on my work belt because it's held up this long. This blade is perfect for a gift and first time utility tactical folding knife that's LEGAL and easy to carry and use. I'm no expert, but I thoroughly recommend it. ... show more

  • Great Pocket Knife
Style: Box
A nice very good pocket knife. Once you get the hang of it, it opens with one hand no problem, it's stiff but that is a plus safety wise. Has a decent edge (it did come sharp) and when sharpened up more it's a razor blade. Leaf lock holds well and again stiff as it should be. It is the right size for almost all work. I live on a farm and need a knife every day. This replaced an Old Timer that was getting worn out. This does a much better job. It fit's into a pants pocket well. Balance is good. Has enough ridges in it and in the right places to grip knife firmly and be safe. I have to agree with others, this knife seems more than worth it for the money no question. Time will tell how long it lasts, but soo far looks like it's going to be a long time 👍 ... show more

  • There is almost NOTHING wrong with this knife There is almost NOTHING wrong with this knife
Style: Box
I got this knife today, and immediately knew I needed to review it. See, I picked this knife because it was in top reviews, and it had the features I was looking for (serrated, carbon steel or AUS-8, low price point, etc.). I later went back to the reviews here, and a ton of them scared the crap out of me. The biggest one being people claiming the locking mechanism didn't come down far enough to lock the blade into place.... I'm including up close pictures so you can see this knife for yourself. It's a good, solid build. Much better than what I expected $12 to get me. I recently paid $22 for an AUS8 knife which wasn't nearly as nice as this one is. Razor sharp edges, even at the serrated portion. The clip is heavy duty metal, and is screwed into the frame. There's good weight to it which indicates it's good metal, but it's still lightweight enough to make a great pocketknife. Most importantly about the weight is when it's open, it's actually balanced towards the center - the ultimate mark of a great knife. No, the top part isn't sharp. I DIDN'T EXPECT IT TO BE SHARP. Anyone familiar with this kind of blade design KNOWS the top part is NEVER sharp, and WHY. Most importantly, THE LOCK WORKS PROPERLY. No, it doesn't move ALL the way to the other side, because that would quite obviously make the blade unsteady and more likely to slip down. It positions itself right below the blade, like it very well SHOULD. Honestly, for the $12 I paid, this is an absolute STEAL. It could quite easily be a $30 knife. Please. Check out the detailed reviews here. Those are the people who know what they're talking about. Most of them discuss using this knife for work purposes, as well. Those are the kinds of reviews you need to pay attention to here on Amazon. For me personally, I've been trained in hand to hand combat including knife fighting for self defense since I was 5 years old. My grandfather was a Korean war vet with medals and honors, and he was into knives both as a collector and as a defense weapon. I like to carry a good pocket knife on me because a. People in public get nervous when I carry a buck knife strapped to my hip and b. I know if I have to defend myself, I've got my best chances with a knife in my hand, no matter the attacker. I also know that one doesn't need a $100 knife just to stick it to someone or something. Just good metal, good balance for throwing, and a good blade design which not only allows for it to cut, but also allows one to twist it so a wound doesn't close back up when it's removed. When it comes to survival, this is how you take dinner down, and with a serrated edge, you can even saw some small things. Additionally, should you ever get pinned down by a seat belt, serrated edges will allow you to cut yourself free. This knife qualifies for all of that. So if you're just looking for a good cheap multipurpose knife, this is a good pick. ... show more

  • Solid and well-built for the money, sharp though a bit heavy. Should last a long time.
Style: Box
Got it this morning, this review is at the $18 price point. It feels solid and well made. I can operate it one handed which is a primary consideration. It is sharp out of the box, the secondary consideration. Time will tell if it holds an edge, which is the third consideration but I suspect it will. This is a heavy knife, my biggest concern. I don't think this is an everyday carry because of that but it could be for you. I just don't like to feel it in my pocket. At the same time I bought a knife cost twice as much and weighs half, that is going to be my EDC. This one is going in my top drawer where I have lost many a knife to my kids. Perfect for that. I would say if you intend to EDC, spend the extra. This is a smaller size, certainly in my hand but still feels good. There is no wiggle in the blade when it is open and that is important too. One review said the thumb nub sticks out past the side of the knife making it catch when clipping it on. It does but I am not certain that will be a problem if I did EDC this. Since it is going in my desk top drawer, it won't be a problem. Since it has the index finger nub on the back for opening I don't think it even needs the thumb nub. Were I S&W I would remove it. @ $18 I would not hesitate to purchase again when I need another. ... show more

  • Reliable and Truly Worth Every Cent
Style: Box
It's not typical these days to come across a quality product for a beyond fair price. If you're shopping for your first knife, a reliable option to leave in the pocket, a gift, whatever it may be, this is the one. Bought this back in 2021 when I started working my first job out of school, it was my first knife. And if I didn't drop it in a stream while working this past summer I would've still been using it. Comes super sharp, but keep it sharpened with a block and it'll cut through just about anything you need it to. Cardboard, rope, wood, fabrics, and others. To keep things PG, I had it doing field dissections on fish this summer and it cut clean right through the stomachs. Broke my heart to lose it the way I did, but am fortunate to buy my second one now at pretty much the same price I bought it at 5 years ago. This is the only amazon review I've ever left on a product, but it is hands down the only product from amazon I have thats worked the same since the day I first bought it. Keep it clean, keep it sharp, keep it secured to your belt/pocket, and you'll have a partner for life. ... show more

  • Best small knife I've purchased
Style: Box
Perfect pocket knife for actually fitting comfortably in pocket. Sharp, tough and just what I like to have handy for all the uses a small pocket knife has. Quality blade, great fitting handle and a solid lock.cc I've sent out at least 5 to a few family and friends, and all agree!

  • A blade with a special place in my heart.
Style: Box
First off I’d like to say that this knife has a special place in my heart as it was the first pocket knife my dad gave me when I turned 10yo so I might be a little bias. With that out of the way it’s a damn good folding knife. It’s a perfect size for a EDC that not too out there like if I take it out at work people aren’t like damn that’s a big knife. It feels good in that hand and is well balanced. Personally in my opinion Smith & Weston make quality products and in the 25 years of using them they have never failed on me. I like that it has a good weight to it and has a locking bar that keeps it in place when opened. As for it functionality it’s good for opening up packages and mail. I also use this to break down cardboard as the blade can hold an edge really well. It will hold up against any common or mundane task you can throw at it. While I lost the original one I’m happy to re-add this one to my collection. I also bought a couple more as back ups and hopefully to give to my sons and daughters when the time is right and I’m sure it will serve them as well as it has served me over the years. I do with the knife was a bit cheaper but what’s cheap nowadays? I’d recommend buying this knife. I hope this was helpful to you and provides the necessary information you need to buy or pass on this. ... show more
