  • Amazing Deal on a Top-Quality Goggle
Color: Oxide Lens Color: Chromapop Everyday Red Mirror
After reading through negative reviews describing the "gummy silicone" issue that seems pretty widespread, I hesitantly purchased a pair of these goggles with the Oxide frame and Everyday Red Chromapop lens. They arrived in slightly distressed new packaging with a "used" sticker. The goggles were in perfect as-new condition. Very impressed with the condition of the goggles! I've been a fan of various model Smith goggles for quite a few seasons, and these are the highest-quality goggles I've ever used. Extremely comfortable with an amazing field of view, and the Chromapop lenses work in a wide variety of light conditions. A screamin' deal for the $65 I paid! Highly recommended (as long you receive ones without the gummy silicone on the band)! ... show more

  • Glue-like material on the band
Color: Lava / Chromapop Photochromic Red Mirror Lens Color: ChromaPop Photochromic Red Mirror
There was excessive glue-like material on the band and it was really hard to clean up. Not sure if it’s a manufacturing problem or something else. Needless to say I don’t want to spend hours cleaning brand new $200+ goggles and maybe even damage the glass by glue. So, I’m returning this as defected. Smith or distributor need to address this issue before shipping it. I gave one extra star bcz it was what I wanted and looked good, but just not usable. ... show more

  • So far so good
I bought a pair of the 'used but in good condition' with the photo chroma pop lenses. I was especially pleased the seller managed to get the goggles to us overseas in Asia in a very short amount of time in a very uncostly manner - Thank you!!! The googles arrives in a pretty destroyed box but otherwise looked like new. I tried them out on the hill yesterday in -5 c temps, blue skies and I was breathing heavy since we are required to keep a KF94 mask on even under scarves which can create A LOT of fogging. However there was only one tiny spot of foggy in the upper part of one side of the lease that usually cleared as soon as I got on the chair. Not sure how these would perform on a powder day/off piste but they will do for us. ... show more

  • Caramel-like Substance on Strap
Color: Black / Chromapop Photochromic Red Mirror Lens Color: ChromaPop Photochromic Red Mirror
Smith is having QC problems with their supplier who provides the silicone that goes on the inside of the strap and helps to hold the goggles in place against your helmet. Until this is resolved, the goggles you receive may have silicone which is the consistency of warm caramel. Opening a pair of Smith Goggles is like eating a Goo Goo Cluster on a hot day. The luscious caramel-like substance gets all over everything, including your fingers, your helmet, and the lens of your expensive new goggles. I ordered and returned 2 pairs of Skyline XL’s from Amazon and both had this manufacturing defect. I ordered a third Skyline XL as well as a regular sized Skyline directly from Smith and neither had this issue. This leads me to believe that Smith has been able to remove the defective units from their own inventory but there are still some sticky-strapped units for sale at other online retailers, including Amazon. I took me 4 tries but I finally got a pair of goggles that I am happy with. *Note that I returned the regular sized Skylines because I could not fit my SportRX insert inside, not due to a manufacturing issue. The goggles were just too small to accommodate. The RX insert fits snugly inside the Skyline XL. ... show more

  • Great for any light levels but shine when the weather does not.
Great goggles especially for low light days. I liked the grip inside the band as it held my goggles in place on my helmet even when they were not on. Many of my other goggles do not have this feature and end up hanging off my helmet which is very frustrating at times. Great pair of goggles.

  • Good for a large nose
There is a big gap where it should be touching my nose, and I don't wear Asian fit goggles. Also, the lens is dark black, but does not look like the picture.

  • Son thrilled with them
Color: 20' Mystic Green Lens Color: Chromapop Sun Green Mirror
These were exactly what my son wanted. Arrived in perfect shape. He has used them and they work well.

  • manufacturing flaw
Color: Lava / Chromapop Photochromic Red Mirror Lens Color: ChromaPop Photochromic Red Mirror
Whatever the 'silicone' material that they use that is supposed to prevent the goggles from slipping off one's helmet is not mixed/cured properly -- instead of setting up into a non-slip rubber like material, it retains a soft sticky mess that comes off on to anything that it touches. Apparently, this is not an unknown issue as it has been reported/discussed many times on the web. it's too bad as they are otherwise great looking goggles! ... show more
