Well designed little nano aquarium. No noise at all. Well thought out filtration. The planting box is not very useful, its shallow and fed water by a cotton cord. I will probably modify it. My biggest problem is that there is no lid. I fashioned a foam lid from the packing so that I could have plants growing in the top and rooting in the bottom of the main tank. I'm using it for shrimp with live aquatic plants. The background comes out! It was my biggest problem before buying the tank, you can just have a plain white backdrop if you remove the plastic "picture" background thing. Tank is all plastic with built in filtration and an open top. I think its ok but it does have a few drawbacks. For a tank this small it's mainly going to be used for a betta and they don't include a lid. I guess its easy to find something to cover it but still. The flow is on the weaker side but I prefer it for a betta/shrimp plus it doesn't make any noise. The top of the tank gives you a space to grow something but its really tiny and it uses a piece of wicking rope to absorb water. My problem is the lights are inside the tank while this is outside. Didn't use the app since it requires an account but from the manual all it does is let you change the color of the lights. ... show more

This tank is well made but needs some work. The top area for holding plants is small so think cacti or something of that nature. There is no cover to prevent evaporation. The tank holds less than 1 gallon. It may be more than a 1 gallon if the manufacturer is including the filter area. I always consider the consumables when I purchase an item. There is no way listed of how to replace filters when recommended replacement is every three months. The app is not user friendly at all. The power switch is the same white color and touch controlled so easy to turn off unintentionally. Now the good things. It would be great for isolation or a nursery for fish. The design is clean and you get just the tank and the initial filters. If you are familiar with tanks, you will have this one going in no time. All in all, with a little work and clear instructions and a way to order replacement filters, this would be a great betta tank or shrimp tank. It does have LED lighting in the cover so no bulkiness there. It does seem a little pricey for the size but if using for a specialty tank, would be in range with others of the same type. ... show more

This was an awesome tank except for the top piece having the opening. My cat kept trying to drink the water, so I had a little betting that I cut and put under the cover. Needless to say he wasn’t happy and the next morning the tank AND fish were on the floor. The tank was smashed and the poor fish was dead! ... show more
