  • Absolute blast of a game.
Red Dragon Inn is such a a fun party game. It is easy to learn as a ach of the cards tell you what they do and when to use them. The more people you have, the more chaos there is, and with the character variety and uniqueness to all of them, there are plenty to choose from, especially in the expansions. Great game, great value, great fun! ... show more

  • Great game, apply to real life
The goal of the game is to get your fellow players to pass out so you can steal your purse. My gaming group plays it in real life. If your character takes a shot you take a shot. The lightweights use beer, the tougher ones use hard liquor, and those abstaining use pop. I recommend making it the last game of tge night and planning to sleep ot off where you are. ... show more

  • Hours of fun
What friend will you stab in the back with this enticing card game? Several themed characters whose decks reflect on their class. Will you try to take their money? Get them blackout drunk? Or even, knock them out? I have tried this card game through friends and have even dragged more friends into the crazy fun. Hands down this is an interesting rpg game that you should have in your collection. ... show more

  • A great little tavern simulation
This game really does feel like a night in a fantasy tavern. You sit around buying each other drinks, gambling, and engaging in the occasional fisticuffs. You lose if you run out of money or pass out from drinking. Getting punched (or blasted with spells) can lower your stamina, which makes it more likely you'll pass out from drinking. Gambling is straightforward and elegant, but also an interesting exercise in bluffing and backstabbing. I like the way they pack so much game into just a few simple cards. Another part of the game involves tampering with drinks -- either watering them down so you don't get so drunk, or avoiding them altogether. Sometimes you can force another player to share a drink intended for you alone, or you can just make them drink more of their own drinks on their turn. Each player selects a different character, and each character has its own personalized deck of game cards. This is actually not as interesting as it seems, as most of the cards have identical effects to the cards in other character decks, only with different names. Don't get me wrong -- the card names are very cute and flavorful, but a part of me wishes there were a little more creativity on the game design side. I'm guessing they just wanted a system that was easy to balance, and I supposed that's what they ended up with. That's my only complaint, though. Other than a bit a same-y-ness among the characters, the game is a fun diversion. As others have mentioned, it's a great idea for simulating a random tavern stay in a fantasy RPG -- I may very well incorporate it into my campaign at some point. ... show more

  • Fun Game
Once learned, play time is as advertised, 30~60 minutes. Rules can be downloaded from mfg website. Download and print off copies for all players. PDFs can also be used on devices for those that prefer that option. Note the 2-4 player limitation. If you need more then 4, buy one of the expansions and combine them. Good as a primary game or an always ready standby if your planned TTRPG doesn't make for some reason. ... show more
