I know the reviews are mixed, but my Moji has worked just as he is supposed to. The battery case is a bit of a pain the first time as noted by others, but know that you don't have to get the screws all the way out like it shows on the instruction sheet. Just loosen them and then give a little pull on the edge if the battery case and it pops right off. I changed the batteries once so far and it was much easier the second time. The cards work fine for me, just hold the back of the card up to the collar tag and hold it for a couple seconds until you get the second beep. He also responds as he should to the touch commands. He also responds to the voice commands after saying his name. You might have to say it a couple of times once in awhile, but it works pretty well. Real dogs don't always listen the first time either! He randomly blinks and tilts his head which gives him that realistic feel too. I was a little worried he would be demanding with the collar requests, but he is actually pretty chill, which I really like. No he doesn't walk, but he does need some space as he moves forward a little bit as he sits and stands and play bows. And yes, he whirs as his motors work to move his legs and head and mouth during his various tricks. He is a robotic dog after all, and not that expensive for all he does. I think he is really impressive! My only small complaints: I wish I didn't need the card to put him to sleep, it would be nice if a voice command or touch would do that, like a touch wakes him up. I didn't use brand new batteries the first time, just some I had at home, so they didn't last long. Now he has brand new batteries so I'm curious to see if these will be a lot better. Overall he is a nice companion that I don't have to feel guilty about leaving home when I work or travel. If you are unsure if he is right for you, there are a lot of videos out there to see exactly what he does. That is how I made the decision that this was the right choice for me. ... show more

My 4 year old loves her puppy! The way it works is, there is a ring with pictures on small cards which your child can put in front of the tab on the collar around the pup’s neck. My 8 year daughter loved this Christmas gift. We didn’t think it was going to be here in time because they were so hard to find. I ended up finding the last one in a brick and mortar store so I canceled the one from Amazon, only to find it had shipped! I wish I had kept it as well to give as a gift. The dog is very interactive and some of its actions are very lifelike. My daughter loves to think of it as our dog’s daughter. This is her favorite picture from Christmas.     • Don't waste your money!!
My daughter begged for this gift for Christmas. It was all she wanted. We got one for Christmas and it worked out of the box for about an hour then it stopped working as it was supposed to. The dog would maybe follow one command but would then repeatedly "go to sleep" and reboot. She was so devastated! We ordered a replacement in hopes that it was a fluke, but the second one did the same thing. Unfortunately with all the new year craziness, I missed my return window and I am now stuck with it. It was not cheap! and I did my research. This product does not perform as promised. The dog itself is soft and super cute, but the toy does NOT do what it says it will. There is also no volume control which I think should be mandatory on every child toy that makes noise. Extremely frustrated and disappointed! ... show more

    • Moji doesn’t walk and not a good listener.
Moji is a great toy. It is cute and I like the concept of Moji. My fault for not reading, but Moji doesn’t walk. He barely listens to commands and the cards work sometimes. However, when it is working it’s a cute dog. Closest realistic one I’ve come across. For the price I expected a little more. He whines, and listens but most of the time he doesn’t respond correctly. This is frustrating to my daughter so she just gives up playing with it. I’m a little disappointed in this purchase. Especially for the price hope they improve on the above mentioned issues. ... show more
