I'm not sure when shoelaces became obsolete, but I sure do miss them. I like a tight fit and cannot achieve that with faux laces. However, Skechers is always a dependable brand. These are well built shoes that don't scream, "I'm an athletic shoe!"

This is our second pair of these and I have two complaints - the velcro closure isn't thick enough to last (the velcro top separates easily from the strap). Also, the toe isn't very tough - my daughter is able to wear this thing down within 2 months. Was hoping for better quality from Sketchers.
