For a number of years ago my kids bought me slippers for my birthday, from the good folks in Freeport, Maine. The slippers would last a year or two, were fine for comfort, looks and so forth, (except the leather laces wouldn't stay tied). Last year, my now adult children bought me other stuff, so when I needed a new pair of slippers, I looked on Amazon and saw these Skechers and figured I'd try them. Good decision. They are more comfortable and the inside faux fur has held up better than the ones from the other company. The outer soles are thicker so are softer when standing, and the inner soles have good arch support. I change into them as soon as I can at then end of the day. Or sooner. And they are about $50 cheaper. I take a 10.5 size shoe. I had read about sizing issues so got a size 11 and they are fit fine but I think the 10.5 would have been okay as well, as my toes have plenty of room, but these 11s don't feel too large. Now my son is bugging me for another birthday idea so I'll ask him to get me another pair of these. Last time, I got the tan ones and they have gotten stained from me dropping cooking debris on them so I'll have him get me a new clean black pair for more formal entertaining. So far, so good. I'm usually an 8 1/2 or 9, and I got these in a 9 and they're a tiny bit smaller than I thought they'd be, but It's really close and I think I'm going to keep them. That's mostly because they're really comfortable, and seem to be well-made. The memory foam idea works. Recommended, but you might size up as they run just a little small. Actually on second thought I just played around with the "return" options and they're going to send me a pair of tens, I can try them and return the nines and it's a very easy process - I'll circle back when I get the tens; I think if you normally wear a men's nine, you might want to go with tens with this shoe - though they're super comfortable, I can't wiggle my toes on my left foot, so I think trying the tens is a good idea.
