  • Feels good!
I'm wearing them right now and they fit perfectly. I used to buy Reebok but they changed for the worse and I've been a Skecher's guy for about a decade.

  • Very comfortable
This is my first time purchasing shoes online, as I generally like to try them on before I buy them. I know you can return and buy again, but I try not to go through such hassles, if I can. I normally wear a size 9.5, depending on the shoe manufacturer, so I stuck with that for this purchase. For me, the shoes are very comfortable, more so than I expected, as they have memory foam in the shoe for the sole. Like any other shoe, you have to wear them for a while to break them in. In the case of these shoes, the memory foam has to get used to you! When I first tried them on, I noted how they were very comfortable and they fit just right for me, so I was happy already. My right foot did get slightly tingly while sitting, since the memory foam was still getting used to my feet. It has only been a few weeks, but I have worn them almost everyday to help break them in, and I mainly use them for walking and light activities, but I have stooped down while wearing these and all has been well so far. I have seen some of the negative comments about wear and tear of the shoes, but even when I stoop down, or do anything else that would stretch the shoes a bit to their limits, I don't feel like any part will tear. For the rear of the shoe, I personally generally use my hand/fingers to lift the back as I put my foot into it, so the rear of the shoes have not caved in, as others have pointed out. These may be slip on shoes, but that is just what I do. As for the memory foam, they are contoured for a normal foot, so I am not sure if these would be good shoes for someone who is flat footed, or otherwise have something other than a normal foot, as my foot is on the normal side ( normal ball and contoured foot, like how you see the foot print images). So, if you are flat footed or have some other shape that you notice is uncomfortable while wearing typical shoes, this one might not be for you, but you could give it a try, as memory foam is supposed to adjust to your feet. Like I said before, one of my feet did feel a little tingly, but that was just the first day. Ever since, they have been nothing but very comfortable and I have been happy using them. I'm including some photos, for a bit more perspective. Not sure why they appear reddish, as they look black to me, ha! I guess my camera is sensitive. It even picked up the little specs of dirt or whatever on the top of the shoes, as they look black to me, and not with the whitish specs of debris on them. Oh well, I will have to wash them soon. That is one thing I haven't done yet, but for shoes, I generally wash them in cold water, and if I dry them in a machine, I only air dry them. But, I generally just hang them to dry, as I have a little garment holder that dries cloths and it has a spot for shoes to hang from. ... show more

  • I'm done tying my shoes
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Black
You know what? I'm at that age where I no longer want to bother tying my shoes anymore. So, these shoes fit the bill perfectly. They are light weight and comfortable. And I no longer need to bend over to put them on and that's worth it!

  • Great show for all ages!
Size: 12 Wide Color: Black
Bought these for my elderly father and these are the first slip on shoes that work for him. He is probably not the demographic Skechers was targeting, but these are excellent shoes for the elderly. They fit right, they’re more stylish and comfortable and he can remove them by himself; he doesn’t have to bend over and risk falling out of a wheelchair etc. (I know, I know, that sounds ridiculous, but it happened resulting in another trip to the ER.) There are no shoe strings or Velcro to complicate things for arthritis-ridden hands with difficulty grasping small/flexible objects. Other positive features include that these are lightweight, breathable, streamlined, less bulky than other shoes, and they grip the floor—no slipping. ALL of these features matter a lot for an elderly person, especially one that has difficulty walking. He was wearing Velcro sneakers; they just seemed immature and unworthy of an octogenarian. Plus he had difficulty with the Velcro and it snags on everything —especially the throw away undergarments —when trying to change them during the day. Alternatively, undergarments just slide right over these Skechers, but it’s also easier to simply slip the sneakers off/on. So far they’ve held up well and I expect he will wear them for a long time. The only concern is that the shoes aren’t rigid on the sides, so his feet can sometimes slide sideways in the shoe. However this would t happen to someone with a normal gait. ... show more

  • Good quality, easy to put on, can even be machine washed!
EDIT: After seven months the memory foam insole is collapsed/thin. Also needs washing because they smell. Foot odor is not normally a problem for me. Another EDIT: tried hand washing them without success, so I put them in a washing mashing on QUICK WASH -25 minutes. Turned out great, restored the collapsed cushions, look and feel new. EVEN PUT THEM IN THE DRYER AND THEY SURVIVED! Very comfortable, really nice quality. I use these house slippers or if I just need to go outside for a minute or two I’ll put these on. And speaking of putting them on….They are easy to get onto your feet, you can just slip into them ... show more

  • Comfortable, easy to put on and great for house shoes.
I really like these shoes. I use them as house shoes only. You could wear them out and I have seen others do it but I just use them in the house. This is my 3rd pair, having wore them out. They are comfortable, easy to put on and look good. There is good foam padding in the bottom and feel good to slip into after a work day. (see images). Note that the image of the sole is shows a little dirt on them. They did not come that way. I wore them around for a bit before taking pictures for this review. If you want some comfortable shoes for relaxing around the house, these are recommended. JohnnyF ... show more

  • Perfect shoes.
The only "problem" with these shoes is that the brick-and-mortar stores either don't carry the colors I want, or the size I need. How on earth can they do business if they don't "stock shoes?" I'll never figure that out! So, of course, "just go to Amazon and get some." I haven't found any shoes that fit this well for a long, long time, and these are just wonderfully light-weight and comfortable -- it's like walking around in your slippers. I need the wide width, so I bought a couple of colors with the wide widths. The only thing that could be better might be the color ranges, especially with the wide widths -- I'd love to get the light brown shoe in wide widths, but that just doesn't exist. Also, I would sure like to see them change the soles from white to colors coordinated with the shoe uppers, for a dressier look. Right now, all they do that with is the black color, but again, I sure wish they'd do that kind of thing with the other colors. But ultimately, that won't keep me from buying more. My purchase this time was for a couple of extra pairs, in case my existing pairs wear out, and I'll probably be back relatively soon to buy a couple more. I've learned the hard way too many times that when you find something that fits perfectly, you just need to build up a stock of them, because the manufacturer will eventually change things and you'll never find anything that fits as well again. ... show more

  • Good concept, less than stellar execution
Size: 11 Color: Black/Grey
This is Susan's son, first off; the shoes were purchased for me, so I felt it made sense for me to write the review. And, as a bit of a forewarning, I'm in the process of sending these back as I type this review because these shoes just did not work for me at all. I found these in a local shoe store and really liked them when I tried them on, particularly the lightweight feel, but they didn't have a size that fit well, so we bought them on Amazon a half-size up later that day. They arrived August 12 and I've worn them repeatedly in the three days since. However, after wearing them and being on my feet for a few hours at a time, I've come to the conclusion that these shoes would only work for a relatively small niche of people; that is, people with narrow feet who live in cooler climates. Below the mesh upper is another, relatively thick layer of fabric that negates any breathability the mesh upper might confer to the foot; add to this the synthetic covering of the memory foam insole and you have a recipe for a shoe that retains heat very well. While this may be a blessing in colder weather, in Texas heat, it's a veritable nightmare for your feet as, after less than an hour, your feet will be hot and sweaty and you'll be wanting to remove the shoes with all haste. Normally, I love Skechers' memory foam insole, as my Avillos have it and I wore those until the insole started coming apart at the seams and flaking off (I got a good several years' use out of them, so I'd say I got my money's worth; they're still functional even now), but with the way the insole is designed on these Persistents, if you have anything but a very narrow foot or tend to walk on the outer edge of your foot, the memory foam insole might as well be nonexistent. I took a measurement and, at the arch of the foot on a size 11, the insole measures a measly 2 inches in width; for comparison, my own foot at the same spot is 3.5 inches wide. Granted, I have a wide foot, so that's not the best comparison, but I've generally found with Skechers that I can reliably go up a half-size if a wide is not available (and it wasn't in these in the color we bought) and be perfectly comfortable. Not so this time. I found the inside half of my foot was resting off the edge of the insole, which was not the most comfortable experience. Nevertheless, these shoes DO have some good points. I said this shoe was a good concept with a less than stellar execution and I meant it. The idea of a lightweight, flexible, and casual slip-on shoe that you could wear with most anything is a very attractive one and in those respects, it actually succeeds. Skechers states on their website that a Men's 9 weighs about 6 or 7.5oz (I can't remember exactly) and I wouldn't be surprised if the 11 weighed more than 8-9oz; they are very flexible and the upper has a good amount of give that I've only found surpassed by Converse All-Stars High Tops. And they are also casual, looking good with shorts or jeans or cargo pants, though whether or not they would actually go with anything is dependent on color (the black or charcoal, I think, would work with just about any outfit, the latter especially). However, because of the shortcomings of the stifling upper and the too narrow insole, the places you actually want a shoe to succeed (particularly a walking shoe), these fall far short of what I was hoping for them to be. ... show more
