An integrated face mask delivers total concealment for the moment of truth while reinforcement in the shoulders, arms and elbows stands up to years of the mountain’s abuse. FEATURES: - Integrated mesh face mask - Removable elbow pads - Reinforced shoulder, elbows and arms - Zippered center chest pocket with mesh dividers GORE OPTIFADE CONCEALMENT Traditional mimicry patterns based on human vision are designed to look like a specific type of vegetation or terrain. GORE OPTIFADE Concealment is the only scientifically proven concealment pattern based on animal vision to optically fade a hunter into their surroundings. By using advanced blends of micro and macro patterns to fool animal vision rather than mimic a particular shape, GORE OPTIFADE Concealment is more versatile and more effective at getting hunters close to game. WHY WE MADE THIS When designing the Apex system, we obsessed on scent, sight and sound: the three enemies of the discerning bow hunter. We built the Apex Hoody with a hybrid merino wool and nylon construction to make this piece as quiet as possible. The merino wool delivers natural odor control for extended hunts, and the breathable nylon delivers high-performance durability. A zippered kangaroo pocket with built-in organizer muzzles rattling gear, and an integrated face mask delivers maximum concealment. Reinforced shoulders limit abrasion from pack straps, while integrated elbow pads aid in crawling-keeping you focused on the approach.

First off...sizing. I'm a fluffy 235 pound man standing 6'3". I'm a heavy perspirator...especially when hunting in gnarly terrain with a 25-30 pound pack on my back. Fit was flawless...never had to adjust, never felt like it was bunching of fitting awkwardly. I never had to stop what I was doing and pay attention to this garment. It fit like a second skin. For functionality. Outside morning temp was 25 degrees and I wore a long sleeved merino wool thin base layer and this hoodie and never once felt a chill. Later in the day when it warmed up to 55+ degrees it never felt too heavy or too hot. AMAZING body temp regulation!! The part that shocked me was, after running hard all day, sweating and rolling around on the mountainside...it was not even visibly dirty and still had ZERO odor...nothing. Had several people perform the smell test and no one could smell anything faintly resembling body odor or a foul smell at all. Functional, comfortable....rugged. Its keeps me warm when needed but comfortable when the weather heats up. Good for a wide range of conditions. I've worn it as a layer in zero degree white tail woods and chasing turkeys when it's in the 60s. I thought the elbow pads would annoy me but they are quite comfortable (and removable anyway if you want). ... show more

The built-in facemask comes in handier than you'd expect. I have this same shirt in a different pattern for late season deer hunting but this one will work well for early season deer, turkey, and those lucky enough to hunt elk. Great product. The elbow pads are weird but actually useful when walking all day and want to lay down in the woods without laying on something sharp. The weight of it is perfect as well, spent a week in the colorado mountains elk hunting with the weather at a high of 70 and a low of 40 and it was perfect. Worth the money ... show more

Material looks and feel good, breathable but not durable. Product runs small (feels like SKINY FIT) and NOT resistant to brush scratch and forest usage.
