Inside, everything is organized and straightforward: razor, stand, and individually wrapped blades. Setup was simple, and the included instructions are clear enough even if you’ve never used a safety razor before. The first thing you notice when holding it is the weight. It has a solid, stainless steel build that feels durable and balanced in the hand. The textured handle is a nice touch that adds grip without being overly aggressive. Performance-wise, it delivers a very close shave. There’s a bit of an adjustment period if you’re coming from lightweight disposables, but once you get the angle right, it glides smoothly and doesn’t require multiple passes. Many, many years ago, my husband decided that using disposable plastic razors was not only expensive but also terrible for the environment, so he switched to a safety razor. I ordered this THURLADY Single Blade Safety Razor because he has been transporting his current one back and forth between our two residences. It's much easier to have one at each house. His current razor is a higher-end version that costs about twice as much as this one, so we were interested to see how this one compared. This razor arrived beautifully boxed with a shrink-wrap seal. My first thought was that this would make a great gift for someone who also might be contemplating a change. Inside, all the parts are carefully packed. This razor feels sturdy and definitely has some weight to it. This is not a cheap razor. The textured handle feels good and provides stability while shaving. Instructions are provided, which are handy for those who have not used this type of razor before. The kit includes two boxes of blades, totaling ten blades. It even has a stand, which my husband's other razor doesn't have. He says this is super handy for proper drying after he rinses and hand-dries the razor, as per the instructions. It also keeps it handy on the counter for those who shave every day. The stainless steel is bright and looks classy on the counter. As for the performance, this razor works just as well as the other one, so we were happy to see that. If you are on the fence about helping the environment and saving some money, this razor will help you over that fence, and you won't be disappointed. As far as price goes, this is priced below the average cost of a safety razor, so I consider this to be a very good value. All you have to replace are the razor blades. My husband is happy I found this for him.
