Package shipped in a envelope. When it arrived the box completly came apart. Sent it back and got another one, this one came with a dent in the box. Product seems to work fine, but very unsatisifed with packaging and shipping.

For whatever reason, my bobbin winder stopped working on my machine. I took it apart, aired it and oiled it. Nothing was loose, broken or out of place. Then I thought to look for this little guy. Way cheaper than taking the machine to a shop. And then I realized it's way handier to have your bobbins wound separately so you don't have to unthread the entire machine every time. I kind of wish I would have had this the entire time I've owned a sewing machine! Lol I think the price is a little high for the quality but it's worth it for the idea of it. I would give this all "0" ratings if I could. I was surprised at how badly this product functioned. First off, the on/off button doesn't work-- it won't turn off until the bobbin is fully wound, even if it isn't winding properly. This is a safety issue and the only correction is to unplug it. With the battery option, I don't know how you would stop it. It wound unevenly and made a mess of both attempts to wind bobbins with two standard thread spool sizes. It wasted a lot of thread. I waited too long to use it and can no longer return it to Amazon, so I will try my luck with Singer. ... show more

I purchased this bobbin winder to wind bobbins of silk thread I use for hand applique. Having a small disk of bobbins is more easily managed in my appliqué kit than multiple spools of thread. This bobbin winder works wonderfully well for that purpose. I was able to quickly wind about 25 bobbins to keep in my kit. That being said, there are limitations on its usefulness for use in a sewing machine. In 25 bobbins, I did not get a consistently even bobbin. They WERE consistently wound more on one side than the other. About every 5th or so bobbin had tangles, which would have made them completely unusable in a sewing machine. Again, I was working with 100 wt silk thread, so no idea how the machine will perform with 50 wt thread. I think if the spindle were more stable these issues could be resolved, but as is there is a fair amount of vibration even with the spindle cap on. The spindles will accommodate regular spools of thread, but my silk cones were a stretch for it. I could not wind a regular Aurifil spool at all (my one attempt at 50 wt thread). So, for hand stitchers, this machine will likely work well depending upon the size of spool you are working with. For machine stitchers, you probably want a better bobbin winder. ... show more

Tiny but does the job, it’s a little tight to get the bobbin off but otherwise it’s working as well as I can expect. I’ve made multiple bobbins so far with no issues, it’s a little loud but for like 30 seconds to make the bobbin, it’s exactly what I needed when my machine bobbin maker broke, so I’m happy with it, ... show more
