  • Read the instructions
Style: System (20 Inch x 4.5 Inch)
While these have only been installed for a week I am quite pleased with the product overall. One housing unit came with a broken pressure release valve but they already supplied a replacement with the order. However, I recommend you read the instructions when installing. Initially, when installing the fittings I only made 4 wraps of Teflon tape on the fittings for the inlet/outlet ports. When I turned on the water I had leaks at 4 of 6 of the ports. Looking at the instructions, they say to do 10 wraps of Teflon tape, this seems excessive but once I did so I had no leaks at all. ... show more

  • Has a wall hanger
Style: System - Clear (10 Inch x 4.5 Inch)
I especially liked the brass female adapter to screw a fitting into. Less expansion equal less leaks. Also liked the wall mount.

  • Don't get the pressure relief valve
Style: System (20 Inch x 4.5 Inch)
I order to filter housings and one of the pressure relief valves leaked. (So 50/50 chance of getting one that works) I contacted support because I had to shut down water for the house until I found a solution, but support was not responsive. I went onto you tube and they recommended tightening the phillips screw, which worked to stop the leak but then it was so tight the valve no longer works as pressure relief. Next day support got back to me. When I explained about the pressure relief valve they asked twice, "do you mean the little red button?" They don't even know how to answer a simple question. Just get the one without the pressure relief valve and when you want to change filters open a faucet to relieve pressure. ... show more

  • Simple installation
Style: System (10 Inch x 4.5 Inch)
This was a simple install (I have done a couple similar ones before). You do need to properly evaluate the pipe diameter..it is best to slect a filter housing with larger diameter in/out fittings than your pipe size (i.e. 1" input and output from the filter housing with 3/4" house plumbing). You will use a 1" -to-3/4" MIP male adapter..it is easiest to use a combination MIP & push-to-connect fitting (i.e. "Shark Bite")made just for this...it has brass male threads (1") and a 3/4" female push-to-connect fitting to connect to your house plumbing (copper, CPVC or PEX). Recommend putting a quarter turn valve in your piping before and after the filter to make filer cartridge changes easier. Make sure you mount the housing bracket securely as it takes a lot of force to remove and install the filter cannister (the blue part). Turning/torquing the blue part does strain your mounting hardware so fasten securely to an adjacent wall (solid framing/blocking) or a masonry wall (using Tapcon screws or similar). Measure your clearances accurately below the unit to allow for the blue housing to be removed with the filter cartridge. (It's nice if you have room to have a bucket or catch-pan under the housing for filter cartridge changes). Choose your filter cartridge carefully depending on your water issues...charcoal-based ones are great for odor removal...simple 10 or 20 micron cartridges for sediment removal. ... show more
