It looks amazing and is extremely sturdy, but this thing took forever to put together. I'm talking well over four hours including snack breaks!! I assembled it alone and no individual step was difficult, but it was hands down the most involved and time consuming assembly of any piece of furniture I have ever purchased. I really think that it is a matter of the manufacturer designing a product to be quality and sturdy over having it be easy to put together. The instructions were very clear. All pieces came nicely labeled. They put arrows pointing toward the front for all pieces where you had to decide how to orient them. They even included drill holes at the top and bottom of the doors so that it doesn't matter which door you put on the left and which one you put on the right. Either way you can put the magnet at the bottom to connect to the magnet on the bottom of the inside to hold it closed. Without the drawers in it or doors on it, it was light enough for me, a relative weakling, to pick up on my own and move to its final spot. The only time that an extra pair of hands would have been nice was when having to support the doors to connect the hinges to the main body of the sideboard. Again, every individual step is easy enough, but people who just have average modular furniture assembly skills could find this to be a really daunting. Overall, I'm relieved to be done and extremely satisfied with the final product. Extremely well designed. Would buy another piece of furniture from this manufacturer without hesitation. ... show more

The gentlemen who delivered my buffet were very nice and put it where I wanted it. The gentlemen who put our buffet together were courteous and did a great job. They cleaned up after themselves. I love the beautiful buffet and will use all of the above again if any other event arises.

I'm very pleased with this buffet. The wood is solid, sturdy, and looks very nice. It holds wine bottles and glasses, as well as tons of dining room accessories (serving tools, napkins, placemats, etc.). The only downside is the assembly! The instructions are clear and each item is clearly labeled. However, it took an actual, professional handyman several hours to assemble. He reported that the drawer hardware was the most challenging part of the job. I'm happy with it, and even happier I didn't have to assemble it (I have assembled quite a bit of furniture from Ikea, Wayfair, Amazon...and this was definitely more complicated.) ... show more

This buffet IS beautiful, but at this time I cannot give it a good rating. Multiple pieces arrived damaged, including one of the preassembled tracks for the drawers, which was bent outward, leaving me unable to insert a drawer in one spot. Additionally, there is visible damage on the top, on of the drawers, and the bottom piece which is really the foundation for the entire cabinet has a huge crack in two places. I contacted the company for replacement parts, and was told they were on back order. My options were to refund/return, keep as is with a partial refund, or wait 3 - 4 months for parts. I'm taking a gamble and waiting the 3 - 4 months for the back ordered parts in hopes that they arrive undamaged, and if I'm easily able to replace everything I will come back and update my review. For as much as this item costs, I should not have to go through this trouble. The fact that this was a gift for our daughter added insult to injury. SimpliHome does not seem to place a lot of value in quality control. Customers should NOT have to go through this hassle. 4/5/22 UPDATE: SimpliHome has reached out to say that they have not yet received the back ordered parts, and wants to send me $85 as a 'discount' ... I don't think they understand that I spent more than $600 for a piece of furniture that is going to fall apart as soon as we start to use it because of the damages to the foundation of the cabinet, and an empty hole where a drawer should be because the track is bent. For that kind of money, this item should be in perfect condition, and this offer is unacceptable. I see others here who received this buffet in perfect (or near perfect) condition. SimpliHome can make this right by 1.) finding my replacement parts or 2.) send me a new cabinet or 3.) refund my purchase. I will follow up once I know what their decision is. In the meantime, THANKS SimpliHome for turning what should have been an awesome gift for my daughter into an expensive nightmare. ... show more

This is a good piece of furniture, but it is quite a bit of work to put together. It arrived with only a couple minor dents/scratches on the back of the back legs. Caution be very careful to assemble with the unit with the front facing down paying attention to the left/right orientation of the components. It helps to have a ratcheting screwdriver with an Allen bit to drive the screws in but be sure to tighten with the Allen wrench. It took me about an hour to carefully unbox and stack the parts in my garage (80 to 90 degrees for 3 days) so that they could air out and avoid any vapors that might be off gassing. You will need to drill holes for the screws to attach the back panels (which slip into groves in the legs on the sides). It is darker than it looks in the pictures. There is a bag of extra parts which is good because I broke one of the cams putting the drawers together. ... show more

This is an attractive piece that is nice to accent your room. While, inexplicably, they said a TV should not be put on it, that is how I used it and it serves the purpose well. As for the CONS, there are several. It is mostly solid wood, but not hardwood. It dents easily and the finish, although attractive, comes off very even more easily. So, it won't hold up to heavy use. The assembly was hampered by two things. First, they sent instructions for an entirely different piece of furniture. So I had to proceed unaided, except for the stickers on some of the major pieces that showed you what faces to the front. The mechanisms that hold much of it together, the ones that screw in and lock down with a cam often would not make a connection if installed as intended. They had to be unscrewed partially for the cam to lock. Not a good situation and a pain to figure out. Be clear that every drawer has to be built. The directions seem pretty good if you have the right ones. The chemical smell that some complained of didn't seem extreme to me and went away quickly. This line sells under two names and the prices vary tremendously for the exact same products. At $500, I'd call it an OK value if you can deal with the hassle. At $700 the CONS would outweigh the PROS in my opinion. If you purchase, I would suggest going slow, having a helper, and being very careful that you don't ding it up in the process which is very easy to do. ... show more

I really wish I could write a good review aboutn this sideboard buffet. I love the design, color. It came nicely packed, fast. Assembly took 4 hours , (has a lot of details ) I did it by myself. Big disapoitment was When I was putting backside board almost at the end of the assembly it has warining lable " for state of California this porduct may contain chemicals that can lead to cancer and other health issues". Well!!!!! it does advistize like a solid wood furnuture and nowhere has mentioned that some elements of the furnuture piece have these engeneered wood elements. ( I assume drawers ). Too late to take it apart and send it back. If that worning was presented in the discription I would not buy it. But it looks really nice. Update: using this buffet for a week or so. Smell was strong so had to put drawers for half a day outside or open doors of my room. Noticed that I had a headache almost every day and thought it is just weather or it because opened doors and cold temperatures. But today my husband told me he has headaches too. So I suspect it is because of the furniture. Going to call customer service to see if I can returned it, after assembly. Have no hopes , so seems it just waste of money. If not Will put in garage . 2 stars for design only ... show more
