I got this to see if it could lessen odors in a shoe cabinet that has no ventilation. So far, so good. It has a very faint fresh mint smell that overrides the smell of my shoes in the cabinet, but does not make my shoes or the closet smell like mint.

I like it. Effuses a nice smell. I used foam tape to mount based on comments that it falls off. Did not use on a simplehuman can ... had to put on side, was to heavy for my battery operated lid to open with it attached to the lid.

When I bought my Simple Human trash can I bought another company's deodorizing clip to put on the top. It did the job, but was very large and would intrude into the can a bit. This means it could get dirty and have to be cleaned itself, but there was no smell. When I saw Simple Human made their own I of course removed the old one for this smaller one right away. Unfortunately, this just doesn't do the job. I think I would need 2 for a larger trash can even though the description said it would work for my can's size. In this case though, my trash can would stink horribly after just a few days. I'm sure the answer is that I can or should install 2, but why when I can find one cheaper compared to what this company loves to charge for their products?

They work well, but are not magical. Yes, the trash still stinks when the lid is up. But it does a good enough job to stop the stink from escaping the can. I never would have bought these on their own, but they came with our new trash cans from the same manufacturer. My lower rating is for two simple issues - cost and duration. It says they last about 45 days, but I found it is less effective after it gets to about 25% level, making me want to replace it after 30 days.
