I just got these shoes today and tried them on. I was looking for a light-weight shoe that I could take out in a day pack while traveling. Something I could put on if it was raining and I didn't want my regular shoes to get wet. Or if we were going to be walking in water or crossing streams. I hate walking around in wet, squishy shoes and socks. I have another pair of water shoes but they have a thin, hard sole. The reviews suggested there is support in these shoes...and there is!     • Decent for boating - not for hiking : and watch the size
Bought these for a sailing trip; there were many choices on Amazon under water shoes or variations thereof. All the videos implied all these choices were good for walking in streams and slippery rocks. I bought them as sailing boat shoes because of the soles. The quality was decent : strong soles and they gripped a boat deck very well. On top they are a very light but durable stertch material which a lot of stretch and with a comfortable inner padded inner sole. However do not expect any support from the structure as there is none except the strong sole - the rest is like a light elastic sock. On the plus side good for boating and they dry quickly if they get wet. There were some other reviews which suggested getting a smaller size. They are correct. I purchased for a 10.5 and they were a tad too big: because of the stretch I could have sized a half size smaller but for the price they did the job. One final caveat : the laces which are good enough but a bit cheap are too long for the shoes. As they are 'tighten with a draw device' kind of lace, after you tighten them you have to tuck in the rest of the lace [about 3 inches + extra] around the back of the shoe or in the side which is counter-intuitive and a bit of a pain in the neck. But it was workable. I see no use them on dry land but for a boat good enough. For hiking - no way as they have no support. On the other hand the price was ok even if a disposable type of product - vs buying boater shoes a good pair of which can set you back $100 these days and are usually way too heavy and over engineered for style vs function, which these have for that purpose. ... show more
